Eligibility Criteria

For B.Sc. Nursing: General category 45% marks in 10+2 and 40% marks for Reserved Category SC and OBC Classes in Physics, Biology, English and age group (17-35 years)

For General Nursing & Midwifery: General category 45% marks in 10+2 and 40% marks for Reserved Category SC and OBC & Ex-serviceman with Science subjects and age group (17-35 years).

Only unmarried/ widow / legally divorced females are eligible for this training.

Admission to three and a half years General Nursing and Midwifery - 2010

Applications are invited on plain paper from unmarried / widow / legally separated female without incumbency who are bona fide resident of State of Haryana for the admission to three and a half years General Nursing and Midwifery- course commencing from Session 2009 in the following institutions.

1. General Hospital, Bhiwani
2. General Hospital, Hisar
3. General Hospital, Karnal

Qualification and conditions:-

1. Minimum qualification:

(i) Should have passed 10+2 Examination or its Equivalent Examination preferably with Sciences (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) to be recognised by the Board of School Education, Haryana with minimum 40% marks in case of reserve categories and 45% for
General categories.

(ii) In case 10+2 Vocational A.N.M Course should be recognised by the Indian Nursing council.

(iii) A.N.M. Training i.e. 10th pass+1 & ½ years training and should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination.

2. Hindi/Sanskrit up to 10th and English up to 10+2 .standard is compulsory.

3. Medium of course will be in English.

4. Age should not be less than 17 years and not more than 35 years on the last date of submission of application form relaxable up to 3 years in case of Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes/Backward Classes and Widows.
No age bar for ANM/LHV already in Govt. Services.

5. The admission will be made on the basis of merit list. Marks obtained in the qualifying examination and higher education if any.

6. Applicant should be medically fit.

7. The reservation Policy will be adopted strictly according to the latest directions / instructions issued by the Chief Secretary, Haryana

8. Candidates who will be admitted will get a stipend of Rs.500/- (Rs. Five Hundred) per month during the training period, if the student leaves the training in between or does not complete the training, the amount of stipend will be recovered from her. An affidavit in this regard will have to be submitted by her/her guardian.

9. All the selected candidates will have to stay in the Nursing Hostel where free accommodation is provided.

10. In case the candidate from reserved categories are not available the seats reserved for them will be filled from General Category.

11. At the time of interview the candidates must bring all the certificates in original, otherwise they will not be considered for admission.

12. The application should reach in the office of Principal Medical Officer, General Hospital, Bhiwani, Hissar, and Karnal on 17.11.2009 upto 5:00 p.m. (closing date), where you have to complete your training . The applications received before the date of advertisement and after the last date of submission will not be entertained.

13. Interview will be held on 03.12.2009 at 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in the concerned institute i.e. General Hospital, Bhiwani, Hissar & Karnal, where applicant is intended to undergo this training. No separate call letters will be issued.

14. If at any level certificates/affidavit submitted by the candidates is found false, she will be expelled from the training and she has to refund the stipend/amount paid to her during the training time and she will also be liable for legal action.

15. If any student leaves the training due to her own will or she expelled from the training due to any fault/reason she will have to refund the whole amount of stipend taken by her during the period of training in lump-sum. In case she fails to deposit the amount, her name will be sent to higher authorities for inquiry and also to police to register the case on submission of false certificate/ affidavit etc.

16. During this training student will not be allowed to appear in any kind of academic, Technical course simultaneously.

17. No TA/D.A. will be paid to the candidates for interview and for the joining of training.

18. Application must be filled in by the candidates in her own hand writing along with attested copies of following documents:

a) Matric Pass Certificate as a proof of date of birth along with mark sheet.

b) 10+2 pass certificate along with mark sheet.

c) Haryana State domicile certificate issued by the City Magistrate/Sub Divisional Officer (C)/Deputy Commissioner: Resident of out of Haryana State will be considered.

d) Affidavit by the parents/Guardian in support of being unmarried duly attested by the 1st Class Magistrate, Sub Divisional Officer (C), it should not be before the date ofadvertisement.

e) Document in support of divorce/legally separated widow.

f) Document in support of being a child of Schedule Caste/ Tribes/ Backward Class/Ex-Serviceman/Sub Divisional Officer (C), Deputy Commissioner or any Military authorities.

g) Character certificate from the Principal of School/College last attended.

h) Any other higher qualification certificate.

College of Nursing AFMC Pune





B.Sc. (Nursing) / General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) Course - 2010

Applications are invited from FEMALE candidates for admission to 4 years B.Sc. (Nursing) Course commencing in Aug, 2010 at College of Nursing AFMC Pune and 3 & ½ years Training of Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery course commencing in Sept 2010 at various Armed Forces Hospitals.

Selected candidates shall execute an agreement/Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 5 years, On successful completion of Nursing Training (4/ 3 & ½ yrs), the candidates will be granted commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms & conditions laid down for grant of such commission. They shall have to refund the entire cost of training in the event of withdrawal from the course, termination of training or refusal to accept commission in the MNS, if offered. During training they will be provided with free ration, accommodation, uniform allowance and monthly stipend.

Eligibility Conditions :

(a) Female candidates who are, unmarried/divorcee/legally separated or widow without encumbrances.

(b) Nationality - Indian

(c) Date of Birth -Between 01 Aug 85 and 31 Jul 93.

(d) Educational Qualification- Should have passed in the FIRST ATTEMPT the complete senior secondary (10+2)/equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks as a regular student. Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing for final year of qualifying examination during the current academic session may also apply. The candidates finally selected for the course will have to submit proof of passing the qualifying exam before joining the course. Those who have passed such examinations as private students or with compartment in any subject are not eligible.

(e) Physical standards- Medical fitness will be determined as per Military Standards by Military Authorities. X-Ray examination of chest will be done.

Selection : Eligible applicants will be called for an objective type written test of 90 minutes duration covering General English, Biology and General Intelligence, likely to be held in Jan/Feb 2010, The parts of question paper pertaining to Biology and General intelligence will be bilingual.

Candidates as per merit on the basis of written test will be called for interview during Mar/April 2010.

Final selection will be based on combined merit subject to medical fitness.

Medical Examination : After the interview the recommended candidates will have to appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB). Candidates declared FIT/UNFIT will be informed by the President of the Medical Board including the procedure for requesting for APPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD.

Written Examination Centres : Bangalore.Chandimandir, Chennai, Denradun, Delhi, Danapur, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jammu, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Secunderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Vishakapatnam. The number of centers may change as per the number of candidates for the written test.

Note : If sufficient number of candidates are not available at any centre, the candidates posting for that centre will be allotted the centre of their second choice.

How to apply.

(a) Apply on plain paper A4 size as per the format given in the advertisement (to be typed in Block Letters). (b) Applications received after the last date, will neither be opened nor be entertained. (c) Applications received on newspaper cutting or its photocopy will not be accepted.

The list of enclosures to be attached (PHOTO COPIES ONLY) with the application are as follows:-

(a) Attested copy of matric/equivalent certificate showing DATE OF BIRTH. (b) Attested copy of complete Mark Sheet of Senior Secondary (10+2)/equi. exam. In case, subject codes and maximum marks are given on rear side, copies of BOTH SIDES are essential. (Candidates appearing in qualifying examination (10+2 / equivalent exam should enclose certificate to the same effect from the Principal of the School.

(c) Attested copy of Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST candidates. (d) Gap Certificate in case the time gap between 10th or 12th class is more than two years from concerned school/College that candidate passed complete Sr secondary exam in the First Attempt as a regular student. (e) Four copies of Admit Card on A4 size paper with passport size photo (without attestation ) duly pasted in the space provided. If the photograph is not properly pasted and is stapled/loosely affixed and gets detached while in transit/handling, the application of such candidate is liable to be rejected. (f) Four self-addressed envelopes (good quality) of size 27x12 cms with Postal Stamps of Rs. 6/- be fixed on each envelope: (g) An affidavit stating that you are issueless (in case of widows/divorcees) (h) Legal documents of the divorcee and an affidavit that the matter is not under consideration with the higher court. These documents should be neatly tagged.

Similar and recent Photo on the application form as well as on the admit cards should be pasted and not stapled. DGMS-4B will not be held responsible for loss of any documents while handling at any stage.

Note : The selection of the candidate for B.Sc (Nsg) / GNM course will however be subject to producing of the mark sheet/ certificate of the qualifying examination (10+2) or equivalent before final selection and meeting all other eligibility conditions.

Last date : Application on A4 size paper should reach Integrated HQ of MOD (Army), Director General of Medical Services (Army)/DGMS-4B, AG‘s Branch,`Room No 45,‘L` Block Hutments, New Delhi 110001 latest by 1300 hrs on 20 Nov 2009. This office will not be responsible for any postal delay.
