The e-Admit Cards of the candidates for the above examinations are available on the Commission’s website
(http://www.upsc.gov.in). The candidates are advised to download their e-Admit Cards and take a printout
thereof. The admitted candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-Admit Cards at the allotted venue for appearing in the examination. In case the photograph is not visible or available on the e-Admit Cards, candidates are advised to carry identical photographs (one photograph for each session) along with proof of Identity such as Identity Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport or Driving License and the printout of e-Admit Card at the venue of the examination. No paper Admit Card will be issued for the examinations by the Commission. 


The candidates are advised to take a printout of the e-Admit Card well in advance to avoid last minute
rush. In the past, cases have been noticed where some candidates have faced difficulty in accessing the
server on the last day on account of server overload.

In case of any discrepancy in the e-admit card, the same may be communicated to the Commission immediately
by e-mail at: uscms-upsc@nic.in latest by 13th June, 2014 to enable the Commission to take a decision in the matter.

Job Opportunities as YANTRIK in Indian Coast Guard - 01/2015 Batch

The Indian Coast Guard (MINISTRY OF DEFENCE): Excellent Opportunity For Three Years Technical Diploma Holders To Join As Yantrik – 01/2015 BATCH

1. Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates of Indian citizen possessing educational qualification and age, as prescribed below, for recruitment to the post of Yantrik in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union.


2. Educational Qualification. Matriculate and three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical/ Electronic Engg. with 60% in aggregate from Board/Institute recognised by Board of Central/State Government. (Maximum 5% relaxation in the above percentage for SC/ ST candidates, sports person of National level and wards of
Coast Guard uniform personnel deceased while in service).
Note: The candidates who are in final year/semester are not eligible and do not apply.

3. Age. Minimum 18 years and maximum 22 years i.e. between 01 Feb 1993 to 31 Jan 1997. Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates.

 4. How to apply. 

(a) Applications will be accepted 'Online only' from 11 to 18 Jun 2014. Candidates to logon www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in and click on opportunities button. The important instructions for filling of online application are:

(i) The name of the candidate, father/mother's name and date of birth should be as given in the 10th class certificate.

(ii) Indicate exact percentage of marks in diploma upto two decimals and this is not to be rounded off.
(iii) Filling up of information like personal e-mail ID and Mobile number of the candidate are compulsory. The date, time and venue of the test and other information will be informed through personal email ID.
 (iv) Candidates to choose any one Centre out of the options displayed.
(v) The Coast Guard reserves the rights to cancel any centre or change the centre of the candidates for administrative reasons.

(b) To fill up "Online" application the candidates need to logon to the Website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in and click on opportunities button. Read the instructions carefully and proceed as given below:-

(i) Select the advertisement for Yantrik (3 year Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronic Diploma holders – 01/2015 batch).
(ii) Select the post applied from any one of the following: -
 (aa) Yantrik Technical (Mechanical)
 (ab) Yantrik Technical (Electrical)
 (ac) Yantrik Technical (Electronics )
(iii) Read the instructions and click on the 'I Agree' button and the 'Online Application' will be displayed.
(iv) Proceed to fill up the application (All Star (*) marked entries are compulsory and to be filled).
(v) On completion of filling application, check your filled details once again prior clicking on the submit button.
(vi) On successful submission of the online application a unique Application/ Registration number will be provided to the candidate. Candidate must note down this application number for future reference and for retrieval/ reprint of the admit card. Applicants to take printout of the admit card through URL
http://joinindiancoastguard.gov.in/reprint.aspx from 16 Jul 2014 onwards post short listing of the online application. For candidates Not meeting the eligibility criteria, a “Rejection slip giving the cause of rejection with the application number” will be displayed. Short listing criteria will be based on higher percentage of marks for a particular examination centre.
(vii) Candidates are required to print three copies of the application with roll number generated by the system. All copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph are to be carried by the applicant to the recruitment centre.
(viii) Out of the above three copies, one copy enclosed with photocopies of all required documents i.e. 10th class passing certificate and mark sheet showing date of birth, diploma certificate showing percentage of marks, caste certificate wherever required and games certificate shall be carried by the candidate
and submitted at the examination centre on the date of examination. Remaining two copies of application forms without any enclosure is to be kept with the candidate as an identity proof during the recruitment procedure. Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of examination shall not be permitted to appear in the exam.

Note. Filling of multiple applications will result in cancellation of all application.

6. Selection Procedure. The 'Online' Applications will be sorted out centre wise. The conduct of test is planned during Aug/Sep 14. Selection procedure is as follows:-  

(a) Short-listing criteria for applications will be based on higher percentage of marks in the diploma for a particular examination centre. SC and ST candidates will be given due weightage while short listing.

(b) The qualifying cut off percentage of a particular centre may be increased if more number of applications with higher percentage will received.
(c) The written tests will be objective type. The questions paper will contain questions from their respective branch (Mechanical /Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication.
(d) Those who qualify written tests will undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT), interview and initial Medical Examination. The testing procedure will take 1-2 days.
(e) The Physical Fitness Test will be conducted for all those who pass the written tests. Qualifying PFT as per the standards given below is compulsory. The PFT will consist as under:-
* 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
* 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
* 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk
 Note: The candidates belonging to the physically challenged are not eligible to apply for this post

(f) Candidates those who qualify the Physical Fitness Test will be required to undergo initial recruitment medical examination at the respective recruitment centre.

(g) Based on the performance in the written examination, candidates will be shortlisted for medical examination in a ratio as may be decided by Coast Guard.

(h) The select list will be prepared from the candidates who qualify in all the tests depending upon the available vacancies. The All India select list of candidates will be displayed in the Indian Coast Guard Website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in in the month of Jan 2015.

7. List of Documents. Shortlisted candidates through 'Online' application will be called for test at given date and time. Candidates are required to appear at the Venue with the following documents. Original educational certificates will be returned after verification.

(a) Three copies of pre-filled online application.
(b) Original certificates of tenth class for date of birth verification.
(c) Original mark sheet and certificates of three year diploma.
(d) Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, voter I card, Aadhar card,
School/ college ID card or any other photo identity proof.
(e) Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original as per Govt of India format.
(f) Ten recent colour passport size photographs.

Selection of candidates is based on the order of merit depending on their performance in Written Test, interview, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examination.

8. Medical Standards.
(a) Height. Minimum height 157 cms. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. orders.

(b) Chest. Should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cms.

 (c) Weight. Proportionate to height and age +10% acceptable. Hearing: normal

(d) Medical examination will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to Enrolled Personnel on entry.

(e) Good mental, medical and physical health, free from any disease/disability, likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties.

(f) No Cardio-vascular disease, surgical deformities like knock knee, flat feet etc. infection of ears, no history of fits or psychiatric ailment, varicose vein, corrective surgery for eye sight etc.

(g) Visual Standards- 6/24 without glasses and 6/9 & 6/12 with glasses for Better Eye and Worse Eye respectively.

 Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to examination.

Note: Applicants declared permanent medically unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital in previous recruitment for the same entry in Coast Guard are advised not to appear for test.

9. Final Enrolment Medical Examination. All select list candidates who are issued with a call letter will have to undergo Final Medical Examination at INS Chilka prior to enrolment. Candidates found 'UNFIT' during this medical examination will not be enrolled for training. No 'appeal' is permitted for review after the final enrolment medical examination at INS Chilka. Medically unfit candidates will be returned home at their own
expense.

10. Training. The basic training will commence in Feb 2015 at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training. Yantriks are liable to be discharged as UNSUITABLE due to unsatisfactory performance at any time during the training.

11. General Guidelines.
(a) Candidates withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any other service training
establishments are not eligible to appear.

(b) Candidates should not have been arrested, convicted or prosecuted on
criminal charges.

(c) Original certificates should not be attached with the application form. Indian
Coast Guard will not take responsibility for loss of original certificates, if attached
with application. Photo should be pasted and not stapled. Attestation made on the
backside of the photo will not be entertained.

(d) Request for change of examination centre/date will not be entertained.

(e) All original certificates and mark sheets are to be produced at the
time of written test.

 (f) The candidate's selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch
only. Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final select list cannot
claim admission for the next batch. These candidates will have to undergo the
selection procedure afresh provided that they meet the eligibility criteria for the fresh
batch.

(g) Applications received by post will not be accepted.

(h) Call letter for final medical examination for enrolment in the Coast Guard will
be forwarded only to initial medically qualified candidates in the select list. Such
candidates will be required to reach the training establishment at their own expense.
Unsuccessful candidates will not be intimated separately.

(j) The application and documents will be further scrutinised at every stage of
testing for eligibility and candidature shall be rejected if found not eligible in any
respect.

(k) No enquiry will be entertained regarding recruitment/enrolment
after a period of six months.

(l) Indiscipline activities including copying/malpractice etc. during the testing
procedures will also result in disqualification.

(m) The application and the original documents will be further scrutinised for
eligibility prior to enrolment and may be rejected if found not eligible in any respect.

(n) It may also be noted that minimum percentage of marks for eligibility at
Para 2 may be increased depending upon number of candidates applying.

(p) Candidates from "Open Schools" institutes not registered with Govt. are not eligible.

(q) In case of more number of candidates applying for one centre, a few
candidates may be allotted to any other centre. Candidates with higher marks will be
allotted their first choice only.

 Mobile Phone.

(r) Use of Mobile phones and other modern electronic gadgets are not
permitted during examination. Coast Guard considers such possession as
adopting unfair means. If any candidate is caught with Mobile , Bluetooth,
of any kind of scanning equipments during examination hours immediately
action as per law including filling FIR will be initiated.

(s) Coast Guard cannot guarantee the safe keeping of any electronic
devices. Candidate will not be allowed to go to toilet or leave examination
venue/ Hall for any reasons after the commencement of the Written
Examination.

(t) All candidates will be frisked prior entering into examination venue.

(u) All candidates are requested to be watchful and immediately bring to
notice of invigilator of any suspicious action by any of the candidate.

12. Pay, Perks and Other benefits.

(a) Pay. Scale Rs. 5200-20200 along with Rs 2400 Grade pay. In addition,
Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance and other liberal allowances will be
admissible.

(b) Perquisites.

 *Free ration, free clothing, free medical treatment for self and family
including dependent parents.

 *Governments accommodation for self & family on nominal licence fee.

 *45 days Earned leave and 08 days Casual leave every year with Leave travel
concession for self, family and dependents parents as per Govt. rules.

 *Insurance cover of Rs. 25 Lakhs at a premium of Rs. 2500/- per month as
Group insurance.

 *Contributory Pension Scheme & Gratuity on retirement.

 * Canteen and various loan facilities.

 *ECHS medical facilities after retirement.
13. Promotion.
(a) Promotion prospects exists up to the rank of Pradhan Sahayak Engineer with pay
scale Rs. 9300-34800 plus Grade pay @ Rs. 4800/-.

(b) Promotion prospect also exists to the Officer cadre subject to suitability and
performance.

14. Travel Expenses. SC/ST candidates, who are not employed by the Central/State
Government, will be reimbursed 2nd class fare by train/ Govt bus/steamer charges by the
shortest route if the home station is beyond 30 kms from the place of examination on
production of ticket.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Online Application is invited from unmarried Male Indian Citizens and subjects of Nepal & Bhutan.

2. Educational Qualifications. Qualified in 10+2 / equivalent examination with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and atleast one of these subjects; Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science

3.Age. Candidates should have been born between 01 Feb 1995 to 31 Jan 1998 (Bothdates inclusive)

4. Pay& Allowances. The Artificer Apprentices Basic Pay Band is Rs. 5200-20200. In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @Rs.2000/- plus MSP @ Rs. 2000/- plus ‘X’ Group Pay @ Rs. 1400/- plus DA.

5. Promotion: Promotion Prospect exist up to the rank of Master Chef Petty Officer - I (equivalent to Subedar Major) with pay scale of Rs. 9300 - 34800 plus Grade Pay @Rs. 2000/- plus MSP @Rs. 2000/- plus 'X' Group pay @Rs. 1400/- plus DA. Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed examinations.

6.Perquisites

(a) During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are given books, reading material, uniform, food and accommodation etc. free of cost.

(b) Sailors are entitled to medical treatment, Leave Travel Concessions for self and dependents, Group Housing Benefits and other privileges. Sailors are also entitled to Annual and Casual Leave, Children education and house rent allowances. Post retirement benefits include pension, gratuity and Leave
encashment. All perquisites are extended as per service conditions and their eligibility/admissibility is regulated as per government orders in force and amended from time to time.

7. Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Written Test, qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examinations. 

Written Test

8. (a) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and of objective type.

(b) The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.

(c) The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 and the syllabus for the examination is also available on website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in.

(d) Duration of examination will be one hour.

(e) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate

9.Physical Fitness Test (PFT).

(a) Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.

10. Medical Standards.

(a) Medical examination will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.

(b) Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms.

(c) The candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions as per Navy Order(Special) 01/2008.

(d) Initial MedicalExamination forrecruitment will be considered only “Provisionally fit subject to fitness in the final medical examination”. Final medical examination of all selected candidate will be done at INS Chilka. Candidates who are found medically fit at final medical examination will be enrolled for training. Training And Initial Engagement

13. Training. The training for the course will commence in Feb 2015, with 09 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch / Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.

16. The applications are to be filled online on website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in. The selection procedure is as follows:-

(a) Print out of online application will be received only through ORDINARY POST

Application received through speed post/ registered post or couriers will be rejected.

(b) Short-listing criteria will be based on percentage of marks scored in 10+2.

(g) Candidates declared Permanent Medically unfit in the recruitment medical can appeal for specialist opinion in a Military Hospital on payment of Rs 40/- by Military Receivable Order (MRO) on Government Treasury within 21days. Medical fitness certificate other than that of the specialist opinion in a Military Hospital will not be considered. No further review/appeal is permissible.

(h) The candidates who qualify in all respects will be short listed depending upon the vacancies. The candidate will be selected on all India merit basis. The select list will be available on website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in on 27 Dec 2014. All candidates whose names appear in the Select list and have been declared medically fit in the Recruitment Medical would be required to report  to INS Chilka. However, enrollment will be subject to Fitness in Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka.

(j) The candidate’s selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only. Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final select list cannot claim admission for the next batch. These candidates will have to undergo the selection procedure afresh provided that they meet the eligibility criteria for the fresh batch.

(k) Call letter for Final Medical examination will be forwarded only to medically qualified candidates in the select list. Unsuccessful candidates will not be intimated separately.

(l) All select listed candidates will also be forwarded Police Verification form alongwith the Call letter for final medical examination. The candidates will be required to submit the same to INS Chilka after getting their antecedents verified on this form from the concerned district police authorities. Indian Navy Sailors Recruitment 2015 For 10+2 Pass Out Students

Indian Navy invites Applications From Unmarried Male Candidates For Enrolment As Sailors For Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR)-01/2015 Batch; COURSE COMMENCING FEBRUARY 2015

Eligibility Conditions

1. Online applications are invited from Unmarried Male Indian Citizens and subjects of
Nepal and Bhutan.
2.Educational Qualifications. Qualified in 10+2/ equivalent examination with Maths & Physics and atleast one of these subjects; Chemistry/Biology/Computer science.
3. Age. Candidates should have been born between 01 Feb 1994to31 Jan 1998 (Both dates inclusive).


PAY AND PERQUISITES
4. Pay & Allowances
(a) During the initial training period, stipend of Rs 5700 pm will be admissible on successful completion of initial training an amount equal to the minimum of scale as mentioned below, less stipend already paid, shall be admissible from the date of commencement of service.

(b) On completion of initial training, they will be placed in the Pay Band Rs 5200-20200. In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @ Rs 2000/- plus MSP @Rs 2000/- plus DA

5. Promotion: Promotion prospect exists up to the Rank of Master Chef Petty Officer-I (equivalent to Subedar Major) with pay scale of 9300 – 34800 plus Grade Pay @ Rs. 4800/- plus MSP @ Rs. 2000/- plus DA. Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed examinations.

6. Perquisites
a) During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are given books, reading material, uniform, food and accommodation etc free of cost.
b) Sailors are entitled to medical treatment, Leave Travel Concessions for self and dependants, Group Housing Benefits and other privileges. Sailors are also entitled to annual and casual leave, children education and house rent allowances. Post retirement benefits include pension, gratuity and leave encashment. All perquisites are extended as per service conditions and their eligibility / admissibility is regulated as per government orders in force and amended from time to time.

8. Written Test
(a) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type.
(b) The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics

(c) The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 and the syllabus for the examination is available on website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in.
(d) Duration of examination will be one hour.
(e) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate.

Indian Navy – An Ocean of Opportunities: Course Commencing – Dec 2014

Applications are invited from UNMARRIED MALE CANDIDATES (fulfilling the conditions of nationality as laid down by the Govt. of India) to join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under the 10+2 Cadet (B.Tech.) Entry Scheme.


Eligibility Conditions

Age: 17 to 19 ½ Years (i.e. born between 2 July 1995 and 1 January 1998, both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualification: Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or it’s equivalent from University / Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) ant at least 50% marks in English either in Class X or XII.

Physical Standards
a) Height and Weight: Minimum Height 157 Cms with correlated weight as per age.
b) Eye: Sight: The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision is 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with Glasses. Should not be Color / Night Blind.
c) Tatto: Permanent Body tattoos are only permitted on inner face or forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist end on the reverse side of the palm / back (dorsal) side of hand. Selected candidates will be inducted as Cadets for 4 year B.Tech Course in Electronics & Communication Or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. During the course, Cadets will be allotted Executive or Engineering including Naval Architecture specialization or Electrical Branch. On completion of the course, B.Tech. Degree will be awarded by Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU).

Note: The entire cost of training, including books and reading material will be borne by the Indian Navy. The Cadets will also be provided with Free Clothing and Messing.

Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) Interviews on their performance in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 equivalent). SSB Interviews for Short Listed Candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore / Bhopal / Coimbatore / Vishakhapatnam during August – November 2014.

State I Test consisting of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify on Stage I will be routed back on the same day.

Stage II Tests comprising of Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview will last for 4 days.

Cost to Company (CTC): The CTC for a Sub Lieutenant would be approximately Rs 66000/- per month. This includes basic pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service pay, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance. These rates are no statutory and subject to change.

Privileges: In addition to CTC mentioned above, Navy provides Free Medical facilities for self and dependants, Canteen facilities, Entitled rations, Mess / Club / Sports Facilities, Furnished Government Accommodation, Car / Housing Loan at subsidized rates.

Group Insurance & Gratuity: Insurance cover of Rs. 50 lakhs (on contribution) and Gratuity will be granted to the officer as per the latest rules in force.

Leave Entitlements: Officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every year (subject to service exigencies). They are also entitled 40% rail concession to any place and free travel (as per extant rules) for self and dependants. Leave during training period as per the Training Policy in force.

Sports & Adventure: The Navy provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hang gliding, wind surfing etc.

Physical Fitness: In the Naval Academy curriculum, a lot of emphasis is laid on physical fitness. You are therefore, advised to remain fit by undertaking regular physical exercise, sports, running, swimming etc so that you can meet the training goals successfully.
