NDA & NA Written Examination (I) 2015 Result

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) New Delhi announced Written Test Result for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I) 2015. The test was held by UPSC across India on 19th April 2015. The candidates qualified in the written shall now require to undergo for Personality Test / Interview held by Service Selection Boards (SSBs) of the Ministry of Defence. The finally selected candidates shall get admission based on cloices and eligibility into  the 135th Course and for the 97th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). The course shall commence from 2 January 2016.

The Indian Navy: 10+2 Cadet (B.Tech.) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission)

Indian Navy – An Ocean of Opportunities: Course Commencing – Dec 2014

Applications are invited from UNMARRIED MALE CANDIDATES (fulfilling the conditions of nationality as laid down by the Govt. of India) to join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under the 10+2 Cadet (B.Tech.) Entry Scheme.


Eligibility Conditions

Age: 17 to 19 ½ Years (i.e. born between 2 July 1995 and 1 January 1998, both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualification: Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or it’s equivalent from University / Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) ant at least 50% marks in English either in Class X or XII.

Physical Standards
a) Height and Weight: Minimum Height 157 Cms with correlated weight as per age.
b) Eye: Sight: The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision is 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with Glasses. Should not be Color / Night Blind.
c) Tatto: Permanent Body tattoos are only permitted on inner face or forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist end on the reverse side of the palm / back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other body part are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection.

Note: There will be no relaxation in physical standards.

Training: Training is scheduled to commence in December 2014.

Selected candidates will be inducted as Cadets for 4 year B.Tech Course in Electronics & Communication Or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. During the course, Cadets will be allotted Executive or Engineering including Naval Architecture specialization or Electrical Branch. On completion of the course, B.Tech. Degree will be awarded by Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU).

Note: The entire cost of training, including books and reading material will be borne by the Indian Navy. The Cadets will also be provided with Free Clothing and Messing.

Whilst applying Online, students are advised to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following.

Click on the Officer Entry Menu Under the Option Apply Online on the Home Page of the website.
After writing the Information in Blank Spaces, Click Preview, check if all the Information is correct.
Before clicking the Print Application Button it should be checked whether all the details entered in the Form are correct as you will not be able to make any corrections after Saving the Record. Candidates can take the Print of the Application Form by entering the relevant details.

Selection Procedure: The Indian Navy: 10+2 Cadet (B.Tech.) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission)


Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) Interviews on their performance in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 equivalent). Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage.. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB Interviews for Short Listed Candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore / Bhopal / Coimbatore / Vishakhapatnam during August – November 2014.

State I Test consisting of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify on Stage I will be routed back on the same day.

Stage II Tests comprising of Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview will last for 4 days.

Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (Approx Duration 3 to 5 Day) .

3rd AC rail fare is admissible for the SSB Interview to and from home station if appearing for the first time.

On successful completion of training you will be commissioned as Sub Lieutenant. The benefits of being an office in the Indian Navy are given below:

Cost to Company (CTC): The CTC for a Sub Lieutenant would be approximately Rs 66000/- per month. This includes basic pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service pay, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance. These rates are no statutory and subject to change.

Privileges: In addition to CTC mentioned above, Navy provides Free Medical facilities for self and dependants, Canteen facilities, Entitled rations, Mess / Club / Sports Facilities, Furnished Government Accommodation, Car / Housing Loan at subsidized rates.

Group Insurance & Gratuity: Insurance cover of Rs. 50 lakhs (on contribution) and Gratuity will be granted to the officer as per the latest rules in force.

Leave Entitlements: Officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every year (subject to service exigencies). They are also entitled 40% rail concession to any place and free travel (as per extant rules) for self and dependants. Leave during training period as per the Training Policy in force.

Sports & Adventure: The Navy provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hang gliding, wind surfing etc.

Physical Fitness: In the Naval Academy curriculum, a lot of emphasis is laid on physical fitness. You are therefore, advised to remain fit by undertaking regular physical exercise, sports, running, swimming etc so that you can meet the training goals successfully.

Invites applications from Unmarried Male Candidates for Enrolment as Sailors for Artificer Apprentice (AA) 130 batch

Eligibility Criteria


Applications invited from unmarried Male Indian Citizen.

Educational Qualifications: Qualified in 10+2 / equivalent examination with 55% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and atleast one of these subjects; Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science.

Age: Candidates should have been born between: 01 Aug 1991 to 31 Jul 1994 (Both dates inclusive)

Application Procedure

(a) Application Form: The application is to be submitted on A4 size white bond paper with one photocopy exactly as per the sample application which also available on website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in . Candidates forwarding application on any other format and candidates who send more than one application for the same entry will be rejected.

(b) Envelops: The type of entry, choice of centre and percentage of marks in 10+2 board examination is to be clearly written on top of the envelope containing the application. Envelopes should be of White colour.

Example: AA- 130 MUMBAI — 68.7 % (10+2).

(c) List of Documents: The documents mentioned in the application form are to be punched and tied firmly with a strong thread to the application.

(d) Photographs: Candidates are required to submit one additional recent coloured passport size photograph along with the application with their name and signature on the reverse of the photograph. THE BACKGROUND OF THE PHOTOGRAPH SHOULD BE BLUE.

Selection Criteria: Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examinations.

Written Test:
• The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and of objective type.
• The question paper will comprise of tour sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.
• The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 and the syllabus for the examination is also available on internet site www.nausena-bharti.nic.in .

• Duration of question paper will be of one hour.

• The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

• Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.
• PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Medical Standards:

• Medical examination will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.

• Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms.

• Good mental, medical and physical health free from any disease / disability, likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties. Colour perception: CP II.

• No Cardio-vascular disease, surgical deformities like knock knee, flat feet etc. infection of ears, no history of fits or psychiatric ailment, varicose vein, corrective surgery for eye sight etc.

• Medical standard should be as per the detailed guidelines issued by IHQ MoD (Navy) in NO (Spl) 01/2008.

• Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to examination.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for the Entry is as follows-

(a) The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their PCM marks in 10+2 / equivalent Examination

(b) SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled during Feb to May 2011 at Bangalore, Bhopal, Coimbatore.

(c) The total duration of SSB Interviews is of 5 days, consisting Stage I (Day one) and Stage ll (Four days). Stage I Tests consist of intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests (PPDT). Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage l will be routed back on the same day from SSB centre. Stage ll Tests consist of Psychological Tests, Group Task Tests, Group discussion and interview. Successful candidates will therafter undergo Medical Examination at nearest military hospital for duration of 05 days.

(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of all India merit depending on the number of vacancies

(e) Change of SSB centre for interviews not permissible.

(f) Candidates who wish to change their SSB dates must apply to the President of the SSB. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availability at respective SSB.

Selection Procedure

The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in Law Degree. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cutoff. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) [IHQ-MoD(Navy)] reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account.

SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled during Aug to Nov 2010 at Bangalore/Bhopal or Coimbatore.

The total duration of SSB interviews is of 5 days, consisting of Stage 1 (Day One) and Stage 2 (Four days). Stage 1 Tests consist of Officers intelligence Rating Tests (OIRT) and Picture Perception and Discussion Tests (PDPT). Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage 1 will be routed back on the same day from SSB centre.

Stage 2 Tests consist of Psychological Tests, Group Task Tests, Group Discussion and interview. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Special Medical Examination at the same venue (approx duration 5 days at nearest military hospital).

Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies. The confirmation in the service is subject to satisfactory Police Verification Report and Character & Antecedent Certificate.

Change of SSB centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.

Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the President of the SSB on receipt of call up letter.

No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests.

Return 2nd Class Sleeper rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for the entry.

• The part I question paper will have questions of English & General Knowledge, Science and Mathematics. The standard of question paper will be that of 10+2. The part II question paper will have additional sections of Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical. The candidate will be required to attempt only one of the sections, which will be as per the specialisation in which he has completed thethree years Diploma.

However, final allocation of branch will be done at integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) which will be indicated in call up letters dispatched to thecandidates. Duration of question paper (both parts) will be of 90 minutes.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

• Candidates declared Permanent Medically unfit in the recruitment medical can appeal for specialist opinion in a Military Hospital on payment of Rs 40/- by Military Receivable Order (MRO) on Government Treasury within 21 days.

Medical fitness certificate other than that of the specialist opinion in a Military Hospital will not be considered. No further review/appeal is permissible.

The candidates who qualify in all respects will be short listed for interview. The candidate will be selected on all India merit basis. The centre wise select list ofcandidates will be displayed at the respective Recruitment Centres on 29 Jun 2010. All candidates whose names appear in the Select list and have been declared medically fit in the Recruitment Medical would be required to report to INS Chilka for interview. The Merit list (depending upon the vacancies) will be prepared from thecandidates qualifying the interview.

However, enrolment will be subject to Fitness in Enrolment Medical at
INS Chilka.

The candidate’s selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only. Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final select list cannot claim admission for the next batch. • All select listed candidates will also be forwarded Police Verification form alongwith the Call letter for final medical examination. The candidates will be required to submit the same to INS Chilka after getting their antecedents verified on this form from the concerned district police authorities.Candidates without the verified police verification reports will not be eligible for enrolment. The format for the police verification form can also be downloaded from theinternet site given immediately after the declaration of select list, to ensure timely verification.

• No enquiry will be entertained regarding recruitment / enrolment alter a period of six months.

How to apply

(a) Application Form: The application is to be submitted on A4 size paper with one photocopy exactly as per the sample application which also available oninternet site www.nausena-bharati.nic.in. Candidates forwarding application on any other format and candidates who send more than one application for the same entry will be rejected.

(b) Envelops: The type of entry, choice of centre and percentage of marks in 10+2 board examination is to be clearly written on top of the envelope containing the application. Envelopes should be of White colour.

(c) List of Documents: The documents mentioned in the application form are to be punched and tied firmly with a strong thread to the application.

(d) Photographs: Candidates are required to submit one additional recent coloured passport size photograph along with the application with their name and signature on the reverse of the photograph. THE BACKGROUND OF THE PHOTOGRAPH SHOULD BE BLUE. Application received without photographs or not in the specified format will be rejected. Computer generated / digital photographs will not be accepted.
