Admission to the B.A.(Honours) Business Economics – 2008 – 09
Eligibility
a) General Category
The candidate must have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi with pass in 4 subjects (English, Mathematics and two Elective Subjects) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with 55% or more marks in the aggregate of these four subjects.
The four subjects considered are all from the academic stream. They are:
(1) English
(2) Mathematics or Business Mathematics
(3) and (4) Any two from among the following:
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Commerce, Accountancy, Computer Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy and Biotechnology.

b) Reserved Categories
1) Candidate must produce certificate from the competent authority to claim benefits under this category.
2) Candidates belonging to SC / ST category shall be allowed 5% relaxation of the marks in the minimum eligibility requirements. A separate merit list will be drawn for these students for the purpose of (15 + 7.5)% reservation.
3) Candidates belonging to OBC category shall be provided 9% of the total seats and a separate merit list will be drawn for the purpose. Eligibility requirement will be the same as for general category candidates (as per Delhi University guidelines).
4) Children and/or widows of personnel of Armed/Paramilitary Forces killed/disabled in action during the wars from 1947-48 onwards or those who died while on duty, shall be allowed relaxation of 5% in the minimum eligibility requirements.
5) Candidates belonging to the physically handicapped categories shall be allowed 5% concession in the minimum eligibility condition for the test and separate merit list will be drawn for such students for the purpose of 3% reservation.
c) Foreign Students
Eligibility conditions for the foreign students will be the same as for the general category students.
d) Other Eligibility Requirements
1) The candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and whose results are not declared before the last date of receipt of application form are also eligible to apply for the admission test. Such candidates must enclose the self attested copy of the marks sheet of XII class with the answer sheet on the date of admission test. Their admission, however, will be
subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions.
2) Candidates who have appeared at the annual examinations of the qualifying examination and placed in the compartment will not be eligible for admission for the current year.
3) Candidates who have appeared at the annual examination of the qualifying examination and subsequently reappear for improvement to acquire eligibility will not be considered for admission for the current year. Rounding of fraction of a mark to determine eligibility is not permissible.

Issue of Bulletin of Information
Admission to B.A.(Hons.) Business Economics is centralized.

The Controller of Examinations/Deputy Controller of Examinations, University of Delhi, South Campus will conduct the admission test with the help of the Department of Business Economics.
The Bulletin of Information with the Application Form for admission test will be available from offices of the ten colleges running this course during working hours, on payment of Rs 400/- (Rs. 200/- for SC/ST and children of defense personnel, on production of certificate from competent authority); in cash/crossed bank draft in favour of the Director, UDSC [B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics] payable at the State Bank of India, Service Branch, New Delhi.
The Bulletin of Information along with the application form can also be obtained by post from any one of these ten places on remitting a crossed bank draft of Rs. 400/- payable at the above mentioned branch. A self addressed envelope of size (23 cm x 30 cm) with postage stamps of Rs. 50/- should also be enclosed with the request.

Dr. D.C. Pavate Memorial Fellowships in Cambridge - 2009
The Dr. D.C. Pavate Foundation in collaboration with Karnatak University, Dharwad and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge offer three visiting fellowships annually for a period of four months to be held at the Centre of International Studies, Judge Business School and the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, University of Cambridge.

Candidates below the age of 40 years as on 1st January 2009, who have secured a Ph.D., or a first class Masters Degree or its equivalent are eligible to apply for the following fellowships:

(a) One fellowship at the Centre of International Studies, Cambridge, selected on all India basis: The fellowship will be effective from September 2009. Candidates with good academic record in the areas of History, Political Science, International Economics, International Law or Military Affairs will be Considered.

(b) One fellowship at Judge Business School, Cambridge, selected from among Karnataka Candidates: This fellowship will be effective from January 2009. Candidates from Karnataka with good academic record and interest in any aspect of Indian business and management will be considered.





(c) One fellowship at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, Cambridge, selected from among Karnataka Candidates: This fellowship will be effective from May 2009. Candidates from Karnataka with good academic record in the area of applied mathematics and theoretical physics will be considered. The selection and award is subject to the Department identifying a host research group accepting the successful candidate.

Karnataka Candidate: (i) Educated for a minimum of 5 years continuously
at an educational institution located in Karnataka, or (ii) employed in
Kamataka for a minimum of 5 years continuously.

The fellowships will cover economy class return air fare, stipend of 3500 pounds sterling and 2700 pounds sterling academic Charges.

Eligibility Criteria:

Maximum age limit is 21 years on 01.10.2008, (26 years for SC/ST).

(1) For B. Pharm: Pass in all subjects* in Class 10 with minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST). Pass in all subjects* in Class 12 / equivalent Qualifying Examination (QE) with English, Phys, Chem, and Math/Biology/Biotech, and minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST).

Further, candidates must have appeared in AIEEE-2008 or AIPMT MAIN - 2008. General category / OP candidates from AIEEE group must have AIR upto 1,00,000. All candidates who possess the AIPMT MAIN - 2008 rank card may apply.

Marks in Class 10 to be considered as sum of all subjects*, and in Class 12 for best 5 subjects including English, Phys, Chem, and Math/Biology/Biotech ('excluding optional subjects).

(2) For BHMCT: Pass in all subjects* in Class 10 and Class 12/QE in any stream, with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST) in both Class 10 and Class 12. Marks in Class 10 to be considered as sum of all subjects*, and in Class 12 for best 5 subjects* ('excluding optional subjects).

Candidates appearing for Class 12/QE in 2008 can also apply. They must produce marksheet of QE at the time of Counseling, along with other documents.


Selection Procedure:

(1) For B. Pharm: Based on All India Rank in AIEEE -2008 or AIPMT MAIN - 2008 and subsequent Counseling at Mesra.

(2) For BHMCT: Entrance Test on 13 July 2008 at Kolkata, Mesra, Noida, and Patna, and subsequent Interviews at Mesra.
