Use of Calculator in JEE Main 2026 Sesssion 1

Use of Calculator is not allowed in JEE Main by test takers. NTA has clarified in its official website nta.ac.in through a notification dated 2 November 2025. The JEE Main is a Computer Based Test (CBT), students shall require to answer question using Computer provided by test center.

Candidates may see on screen standard calculator in computer screen. However, it cannot be used by test takers under any circumstances.

Please note, if you are a JEE Main aspirant, your computer screen will be under watch using camera, and a basic calculator won't help you in anyway in solving questions. In our times back then when JEE Main was nowhere, but this was JEE - Joint Entrance Examination I appeared in couple of competitive exams, use of calculator was allowed in some, however, that was not helpful much other than to find some logarithmic values.

Log table is supplied in the examination hall when required for calculations. Also, value of important constants etc. is always mentioned in the question paper either in the beginning of the question paper or with the question or in both places as required and designed by paper setters.

Therefore refrain from using on screen computer as trying to do so may cancel your candidature from JEE Main.

Suggestions are my own so you can take entrance examination worry free and score better, rank better, and get a college program of your choice. You can read official notification about use of calculator in JEE main website jeemain.nta.nic.in
