Applications are invited for admission into various courses of the University during the academic year 2009 - 2010. Prescribed application forms along with prospectus can be obtained from the University in person on payment of Rs.100/- through D.D. and by post on payment of Rs. 150/- by way of DD. drawn in flavour of the Registrar from any nationalized Bank payable at Tirupati or by downloading from the University web site

The downloaded filled in applications should be submitted along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of Registrar, R.S. University, Tirupati.

The last date to receive the filled in applications is 10.06.2009 for all courses . For Kasmiri migrants, the last date for receipt of filled in applications is 20-06-2009. Reservation for SCs, STs, OBC`s etc., will be made applicable for admission into University Courses as per the existing rules of Government of India.

Admission to Ph.D. Programme for 2009-2010
Eligibility: The Institute invites applications from candidates who have completed or will be

completing M. Sc. (by August 11, 2009) in Life Science or equivalent in related disciplines with

minimum 55% marks, and have cleared the CSIR-UGC NET exam / DBT-JRF (selected through BET/BINC) /

ICMR NET exam for JRF (with a valid Junior Research Fellowship as on September 1, 2009), for

conducting advanced researches in the frontier areas of Plant Science such as Developmental

Biology, Signal Transduction, Stress Biology, Structural, Functional and Nutritional Genomics,

Developing Transgenic Crop Plants etc. Reservations are as per statutory norms. The selection

will be made on the basis of interview only.
Application procedure: Application should be typed on A-4 size plain paper in the format given

(Form can be downloaded from website).

Item 3 and 6 in the format should be filled in as shown in the Senior Secondary School

Certificate or equivalent.

Each page in the typed application form should be signed by the candidate.

Completed application must be accompanied with a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- in favor of

Director, National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi. A demand draft of Rs. 100/- is

acceptable from SC/ST candidate provided relevant documentary proof is enclosed. The Demand Draft

is not refundable.

Application should be accompanied by attested copies of certificates and mark sheets mentioning

the division obtained.

Two passport size recent photographs should be enclosed. One of these should be signed by the

candidate and pasted on the application form, while the other should be enclosed.

Application along with Demand Draft should be sent to "The Director, National Institute of Plant

Genome Research, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, J.N.U. Campus, Post Box No. 10531, New Delhi-110 067" so as

to reach on or before June 9, 2009.

Incomplete applications and those received after the closing date will not be entertained. The

decision of the Institute will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained in

this regard.

NIPGR will not provide any travel expenses to candidates appearing for interview.

Applications must enclose documentary evidence for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) if applicable,

along with other specified enclosures.

The Indian Navy

Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Technical Branches (Engineering and Electrical)


Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the

Technical Branches (Engineering and Electrical) of the Indian Navy for Course commencing Jan 2010

at NAVAC Ezhimala, Kerala.

Candidates to fulfill condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

Eligibility

Age.: 19 & ½ to 25 years (candidate to be born between 02 Jan 1985 to 01 Jul 1990; both dates

inclusive).

Educational Qualifications: BE/B Tech (or equivalent) from Recognized University or AMIE with

minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Calculation for - aggregate percentage should be based on total

marks obtained in all the semesters (including I & II ), divided by total number of semesters, in

any of the following disciplines :-

(a) Engineering Branch. (i) Mechanical, (ii) Production, (iii) Aeronautical,(iv) Marine, (v)

Control.

(b) Electrical Branch. (i) Electrical, (ii) Electronics, (iii) Telecommunications, (iv) Avionics,

(v) Instrumentation & Control.

Note: Candidates in 8th semester can also apply provided they have aggregate of 55% marks till

7th semester.

Physical standards:

(a) Height and Weight: Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight

(b) Eye sight: The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/24, 6/24 correctable

to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind. .

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION:

Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to

service requirement and performance / willingness of the candidate. On completion of these

tenures, officers are released with gratuity as admissible under the rules. Disciplined life,

leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added

advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

HOW TO APPLY

(a) Application Forms, in accordance with the prescribed format, and complete in all respects

with superscription on the envelope "SSC ENGINEERING / ELECTRICAL BRANCH — JAN 10 course " are to

be sent to the address given below by 25 May 2009.

(b) Application must be sent in the format given in this advertisement, otherwise it will be

rejected.

(c) Application must be accompanied by attested copies of : (i) 10th Standard certificate for

verification of Date of Birth and Other Educational certificates.

ii) Marks statement of all semesters / years.

(d) Application and requisite enclosures must be properly tagged / stitched by thread only.

IHQ-MoD (N) will not be responsible for loss of Enclosures, if sent loose

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

(a) The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on

their performance in BE/B Tech Degree qualification. No communication will be entertained on this

account.

(b) SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled during Jul-Dec O9 at Bangalore,

Bhopal or Coimbatore.

c) The total duration of SSB interview is of 5 days, consisting Stage I (Day one) and Stage II

(Four days). Stage I Tests, consist of Officers Intelligence Rating Test (OIR), Picture

Perception and discussion test (PDPT). Candidates who fail to quality in Stage I will be routed

back on the same day from SSB centre. Stage II Tests consist of Psychological Tests, Group Tasks,

Group discussion and Interview. The recommended candidates would then undergo Special Medical

Examination at nearest military hospital (approx duration of 05 days).

(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBS and declared medically fit will be appointed for training

in order of all India merit depending on the number of vacancies.

e) Change of SSB centre for interview is not permissible under any
circumstances.

f) Candidates who wish to change their SSB dates must apply to the President of the SSB, with a

copy of the application addressed to Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment (OI & R),

Room No. 204, ‘C‘ Wing, Sena Bhawan, IHQ—MOD(N), New Delhi-110011 (Fax No. 011-23011282). Award

of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availability at respective SSB.

(g) No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests

h) Return 2nd Class Sleeper rail tare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the

first time for the entry.
