Selection Procedure

(i) Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in Degree Course. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore during Jan to Jun 2011.

(ii) Stage I test, consisting of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidate who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II Tests comprising of Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days).

iii) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.

iv) Change of SSB venue for interview is not permissible.

National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD)

Eligibility Criteria

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University. Students who are in the final year and expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before 1st August, 2011 may also apply.

Some seats are reserved for the Indian in-service candidates and international in-service candidates sponsored by regional development organizations such as AARDO and CIRDAP.

Indian in-service candidates should possess at least two years of work experience in rural development and allied sectors, and are required to apply through their employers.

The international candidates should apply through the Secretariats of the respective regional organisations viz., AARDO, CIRDAP.

Organisational Sponsorship for all the in-service candidates is essential. In-service Indian candidates are required to appear for the Entrance Test along with the general students.

However, a separate merit list will be prepared for them for admissions. The eligibility parameters for international students are placed on the NIRD’s website.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline of any of the universities by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared as a deemed to be University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
The basis of computing the percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree.

In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence must be established by ASBM by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

Candidates appearing for the final examination for the bachelor’s degree (or equivalent examination) can also apply, subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by the stipulated date mentioned in the offer letter, otherwise they may be asked to withdraw from the programme.
