15 days to go when litmus test will be held for aspiring civil servants. The Screening Test / CSP Test / Civil Services Prelims Exam 2014 is scheduled on August 24, 2014. This test will decide whether you would be capable in writing Civil Services Main Examination 2014 for the selection of Top Post in Government of India Offices. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) New Delhi is the administering authority for conduct of examination prelims and main, Interview and sending proposal to government for selection of Civil Servants in various posts and services.

While the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Examination 2014 is open for graduates of all streams, and CSP Test is of high school standard, being competitive examination the levels of questions asked are high. It tests what you have learnt during 14/15/16/17 years of studies. Good preparation is essential to qualify the screening test. The number of aspirants always turns out very high in comparison to number of seats making it really tougher and you have to stay ahead of your peers.

Butterflies in the stomach are obvious as exam day approaching. But no worries when you are determined it’s your day. 15 days to go when you will be tested for knowledge and skills.

DO NOT STUDY NEW CONCEPTS! You can not grasp new ideas in 15 days if you have not grabbed them in 15 years.
Stay calm, cool and confident. Being rainy weather in most parts of India, everyone is prone to infectious diseases. Be watchful. Good health is important. Being sick means you will loss on the competition.
English is Important. Revise what you know in slow paced manner.
Study in breaks, take good rest. Keep revising what you have studied till date.
Current Affairs is a must. What’s happening in this month perhaps won’t make part of the Civil Services Prelims Exam 2014 Question Paper. However, do not skip news hour even a day before exam.
Following News is one of the best ways to prepare for current event topics.
Do not be over confident. This happens mostly with those writing a competitive exam first time.

When I was writing my first competitive exam for Polytechnic I wrongly ticked the Chemical Formula of Aqua Regia, despite it was learnt by rote to me.

You won’t make the same mistake that I did.

Remember, Murphy’s Law, ‘if something may go wrong, it will go wrong.’
