Eligibility: 1. A pass in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent from any Govt. recognised Board (passed in first attempt)

2. Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).

3. Min. 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII.

17 to 25 years.
(Born between 16.08.1984 and 15.08.1992 for 2009 admission)

Eye Sight

1. Shall be neither colour blind nor night blind.
2. Correction for each eye is permitted up to ±2.5.

Indian Forest Service Examination, 2009 for recruitment to the Indian Forest Service

Eligibility: (a) Age Limits :

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years on 1st July, 2009.
The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes /Other Backward Classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

(b) Educational Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree of a recognized University with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

(c) Physical Standards :

Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in Appendix-III of Rules for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2009 published in the Gazette of India dated 14th February, 2009.

(d) Number of Attempts :

The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows :-

(i) General Category: Four
(ii) Other Backward Classes: Seven
(iii) Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribes(ST) No limit
