JGEBILS 2014: Joint Graduate Entrance Examination in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences

The JGBILS is a shared entrance test for several institutions doing research in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences. The test is coordinated by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. All institutions have different application process and entrance test is only one aspect of this. All participating institutions use the score from this examination, but each institution has its own admission procedure. Students need to apply separately that uses the JGEBILS Score.

The JGEBILS 2015 will held across folowing Indian cities:

JGEBILS 2014 Test Dates: The examination will be held on 14 December 2014
Test Timing: 2.30 PM to 4.30 PM

How to apply?

Apply Online for JGEBILS 2014; log on to www.ncbs.res.in

Only students from remotest areas who have no internet facilities may request and application form alongwith a self addressed stamped (Rs. 20/-) enevelop (Size 25cmx17cm) Superscribed GS-2014 JGEBILS

Application Fee

For male applicants applying online Rs 500/- and for paper application Rs, 550/-

For female applicants (both online and paper application): Rs. 100/-

Payment can be made online using Credit Card / Debit Card or by Demand Drawn on State Bank of India and writtenn in Favor of National Centre for Biological Science payable at Bengaluru

Online applicants sending DD by Post should write their reference code, name and telephone no behind the DD and send it to the address given below.

Fee Waiver: A waiver of application fee on grounds of financial distress may be requested by a letter from the Principal or Head of the Department justifying the request. Students may apply online and send the waiver letter / request from the Principal / HOD (on their letter duly signed and stamped) by post with a covering letter mentioning the reference code. If submissing the application manually, the waiver letter accompany the filled-in application form. Requests for waivers are considered depending on availability of seats and are not guaranteed.

Walk In Candidates: Some candidates without Hall Tickets may be admitted if seats are available. In this case the application fees is Rs. 800/- for male candidates and Rs. 200/- for female candidates. No waiver applicable. Please be present at the Centre 2 Hours early and bring 2 passport size photos and any Photo Identity.

The Walkin facility is not available at Delhi.
