SCERT Haryana ARISE Fellowship Programme

Government of Haryana has embarked upon a massive state-wide Quality Improvement Program (QIP), covering 15,000 government schools with 29 lakh students and nearly 1 lakh teachers, with the aim of improving learning level outcomes of students in government schools. The department has identified
critical initiatives needing interventions and has formed dedicated teams for each of them. Alongside, a Program Management Unit (PMU) has also been set up for the overall project supervision and coordination. Applications are invited from interested candidates to work as Alliance for Radical improvement in
School Education (ARISE) fellows. The fellows will be placed in these initiative teams and in the PMU, according to their expertise and interest. As part of this fellowship, they will get an opportunity to contribute towards one of the largest change efforts undertaken in the Indian Education system, including helping
with strategic design, implementation and monitoring of a wide range of QIP initiatives.


Eligibility: Students and young professionals possessing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
at the time of joining the Fellowship are invited to apply. Applicants need to be a
citizen of India.

Desired profile: We seek Fellows with a strong academic and extra-curricular background. The
potential Fellow should have multiple attributes, including but not limited to:
- Strong interest and commitment to the field of Social Development
- Leadership experience and potential – an ability to drive significant change
- The ability to work effectively in challenging environments
- Critical thinking and problem solving capacity
- Strong communication skills

Remuneration: ARISE fellows will receive a fixed stipend of Rs. 35,000 per month. Since the role entails frequent travel within Haryana, they will be paid TA/DA, as per Govt of Haryana norms.

Tenure: Since this is a 5 year quality improvement program, the fellowship will be for a year which may be extended by the Govt. on an annual basis, as per the performance of the candidate and the requirement of the department. The department will also consider cases of students, presently studying for their
Graduation/ Post Graduation Courses and seeking a shorter-term engagement as Interns, who will be suitably compensated for their travel expenses. The
ARISE fellows/Interns would be based out of Gurgaon or Panchkula.
