Eligibility: For PG Programmes:

All who have completed (or going to complete by June 2009) BE/BTech in Engg(any branch including CS/ ECE EE/Civil/ Inst./Biotech.) or B.Arch. or Master's degree in Science/ Maths/IT/Computer Science or MCA

Post BSc Programmes:

For Post BSc. Dual Degree: All who have completed (or going to complete by June 2009) BSc (any branch with Mathamatics as a subject). Preferable with Honors/Major in Physics/Chemistry.

For MSc (Computational Natural Sciences): All who have completed (or going to complete by June 2009) BSc (any branch with mathematics as a subject), preferable with honours/major in physics/ chemistry.

For PG Diploma :

All who have completed (or going to complete by June 2009) B.Sc. (agriculture/ horticulture/ forestry) or equivalent.

For MS by Research:

All who are eligible to apply for MTech programme, are also eligible to apply.

All who have completed (or going to complete by June 2009) ME/M.Tech. in Engg.

For Ph.D.:

All who are eligible to apply for M.Tech programme, are also eligible to apply for PhD programme.

All who have completed (or going to complete by June 2009) ME/M.Tech. in Engg.

All who have completed (or going to complete by June 2009) masters degree in Social Sciences or Humanities are eligible to apply only for Ph.D programme with



For M.Phil :

MA or MPhil in Linguistics, Languages or related areas.
Application procedure: All applications should be made through the Post-Graduate Admissions Portal.Simply mailing the application fee is not good enough.

You have to go through two phases of registration :-

a) Pre Registration Form.

b) Main Registration Form.

First fill the Pre Registration form. Then you will get an E-Mail which will have a link and Confirmation Code. Follow that link and use the confirmation code to login, then fill the Main Registration Form.

Remember that your Registration WILL NOT be considered until you go through the Main Registration Form. After filling the Main Registration Form, you will get an Acknowledgement Mail, which implies that your registration is complete. Purpose of Pre-Registration Form is to Confirm your Email-ID so fill your VALID E-Mail ID as it will be used for later communication. You can change, update or modify your registration, if you like, later by following the same link which will be mailed to you after pre registration form. The same link will be given in the Acknowledgement Mail also. Every time you update or modify your information you will get an Updated Acknowledge Mail. Remember you will not be allowed to change your Personal Information so fill it with care on the first time itself.

Please check the acknowledgement mails in your "Bulk" or "Junk" folders also, because sometimes it may go there.

Applicants can apply for one or more programmes in the same form by indicating choices. The application fee is Rs. 1000/- for one programme and Rs. 50/- extra for each additional programme applied for. Application fee in the form of a demand draft drawn in favor of IIIT, Hyderabad. You can send demand draft only after submission of your application through online.Write application number and name of the applicant on the reverse side of the demand draft and send it to the Chairman, PG Admissions, IIIT, Gachibowli, Hyderabad-500032, A.P.

We are accepting Credit Card Payment also in our portal.

Application will be considered valid only after the online part is completed and the application fee is received by IIIT-H.

Date of Entrance Test : Post-Graduate Entrance Examination (PGEE 2009) : 15 February, 2009
Admission Procedure : Admission to PG programmes will be on the basis of the performance at the Post-Graduate And PhD Entrance Examination (PGEE 2009) and an interview to be held at Hyderabad. However, for the research programmes i.e., Ph.D. and M.S. by Research programmes, exceptional candidates may be called directly for the interview on the basis of their application.

An all-India examination to test the preparedness of the applicants will be held on February, 2009. The examination will be held at Hyderabad and a number of major cities in the country depending on the number of applicants from each region. The entrance examination will consist of two papers. Paper I test the general aptitude of the candidate and will consist of objective questions from Mathematics, Programming, and Logical Reasoning. Paper II is the Subject Paper, which tests the candidate's subject knowledge.
