Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training





Admission to Bachelor of Fisheries Science (Nautical Science)- 4 year Programs with integrated practice and on board training on ocean going fishing vessel.

Eligibility: 10+2 with minimum 50% marks in English, 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% aggregate marks in other Science subjects. In the case of SC/ST students only a pass is required in the qualifying examination with above subjects.
Age limit : Minimum 17 years and Maximum 20 years as on 1st October, 2010.

Application Procedure: Application form and Prospectus can be obtained from the Director, CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi-16, on payment of Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- for SC/ST) by Demand Draft payable at Ernakulam only, drawn in favour of Sr. Administrative Officer, CIFNET and a self addressed and stamped (Rs.15) envelope (A4 size).

Indian Maritime University





Applications are invited for admission to Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science) – 2010
Eligibility: 1 Pass in 10 + 2 examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 55% marks in PCM aggregate. OR

With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B.Sc., with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc., from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10 + 2examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized Board. OR

B.E./B.Tech or its equivalent degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC/DEC. AND

2 Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programme conducted by a recognized Board/University.

Note 1: Those appearing in eligibility educational qualification examination are also eligible to apply provided they meet all the
eligibility criteria and produce the certificates to that effect.

Note 2: The candidates with three year Diploma from a recognized polytechnic are also eligible for making application for the entrance
test as the three-year polytechnic Diploma is equated with 10+2 examination and accordingly their PCM aggregate in the Diploma programme shall not be less than 55%.

Age Limit: Not more than 25 years. The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Application procedure: The Student Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained from IMU Chennai on payment of Rs.800/- in cash (Rs.450/- for SC / ST candidates). It can also be downloaded from IMU website i.e. http://www.imu.tn.nic.in . It can also be obtained by POST by sending Demand Draft for Rs.800/- drawn in favour of IMU and payable at Chennai by addressing your request to the Head-Nautical Science Department, Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road, Uthandi, Chennai 600 119.

The duly filled in application should reach in an envelope super scribed “Application form for Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science)” to the Head (Nautical Science) IMU, Chennai.
