National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA)





Applications are invited for admission to M. Phil. and Ph. D. Programmes 2010- 2011

i. M.Phil. Programme
ii. Full-time Ph. D. Programme
iii. Part-time Ph. D. Programme

These programmes are designed to build the research capacity of scholars from varied backgrounds and provide a strong knowledge and skill base in related areas of educational policy, planning, administration and finance.

Eligibility: 1. M. Phil. Programme:

(a) Candidates seeking admission to the M.Phil. Programme shall have minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates) or its equivalent grade in Master's Degree in Social Sciences and allied disciplines from a recognized university.

Candidate possessing Master's degree in other areas may also be considered if he/she has proven record of work/publication in the area of educational policy, planning and administration.

(b) The NET qualified candidates, who have been awarded Junior Research Fellowships by the UGC, with the above-mentioned educational qualifications are encouraged to apply.

(c) Candidates who are yet to clear their final examination at the Master's level are also eligible to apply provided they pass the examination as per the eligibility conditions laid down at I & II above and submit its proof at the time of the interview. The University reserves the right to cancel the admission of such candidates who are unable to produce the evidence of passing the Master's degree by first week of July 2010.
(d) In 2010-11, a maximum of 20 scholars shall be selected for admission to the M. Phil. programme.

2. Full-time Ph. D. Programme:

1. The university also offers admission to Ph. D. Programme for candidate with M.Phil. Degree in an area closely related to educational policy, planning and administration in addition to the qualifications mentioned in Para 1 (a) above and/or having exceptionally brilliant academic record in social sciences/allied areas coupled with publications of high quality.

2. M.Phil. graduates of NUEPA will be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. Programme after due scrutiny by a Selection/Admission Committee, if they obtain a FGPA of 6 or above on the ten point scale. This will be applicable for all admissions from 2008 onwards.

3. Part-time Ph. D. Programme

University also offers Part- time Ph. D. Programme based on the criteria as laid down in the rules of the university. A candidate seeking admission to Part-time Ph.D. programme is required to meet the following criteria:

i. Should possess the educational qualifications as mentioned in Para 1 (a) above;
ii. Currently, should be in full-time employment;
iii. Should be a senior level educational functionary with a minimum of five years work experience in teaching, educational planning and administration.

Application procedure: Candidates may apply in the prescribed form (separately for each programme) for admission to M.Phil. and Ph. D. programmes of the University along with three copies of the brief write-up on the proposed research topic on a contemporary issue within the broad framework of educational policy, planning and administration.

Scholarships : Candidates admitted for Ph.D. programme should have to stay in the University for Pre-Ph.D. course of one semester The Ph.D. Scholarships would be awarded to the whole time research scholars with a scholarship of Rs.18000/- per month and an additional amount of Rs. 5000/- (contingency expenses). In addition to above, there is one University Research Scholarship of Rs. 5000/- per month for Ph.D. programme in each department.

For award of scholarships, candidates are required to appear in Entrance Test. The Entrance Test will be of two hours duration with 100 marks consisting of 50 questions of one marks each (objective type) and 10 questions of five marks each (subjective type).

PhD Admissions

Ph.D. degree will be available in the Engineering disciplines of Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical; in Science disciplines of Chemistry and Physics and Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines of Economics/Finance, English, Sociology, Philosophy.
Eligibility: One of the following in appropriate areas:

A. First class or equivalent Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology (55% for SC/ST)

B. A First class Master’s degree (55% for SC/ST) in Science or a first class in Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (55% for SC/ST).

C. A First class Master’s degree (55% for SC/ST) in Arts/Commerce OR a first class in Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (55% for SC/ST).

Candidates meeting the above mentioned requirement must also fulfill one of the following additional requirements :

-Valid GATE score
-CSIR / UGC / NBHM / DBT award
-Minimum 2 years of professional work experience.
Application procedure: Application forms for admission to Ph.D. Programme can be obtained & submitted throughout the year. Such applications will be processed from time to time. Candidates can mention upto THREE disciplines (in order of preferences) in one application form. For further choices, if any, additional forms may be used. Those who are applying for multiple disciplines are required to submit as many sets of complete application materials.

Along with the Application form, candidates are required to submit:
a) Statement of Purpose Form
b) Recommendations Letters (At least Two)

International Institute For Population Sciences





Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. programme of the Institute with Government of India fellowship for the academic session 2009-2010:

Eligibility: Candidates having M.Phil/Master's degree in Population Studies of a recognised university with atleast 55% of marks. For part-time Ph.D., two years' experience after MPS or one year experience after M.Phil in Population Studies is essential.

Fellowship : The selected Indian students will be awarded a Government of India fellowship initially for one year only and is extendable on yearly basis as per rules of the Institute. Each eligible candidate with NET qualification for lecturership only either in Population Studies or its interdisciplinary subjects will be awarded the Government of India fellowship @ Rs. 12,000/- per month for first and second years and Rs. 14,000/- per month for the third year respectively. Each fellowship carries a contingency grant of Rs.10,000/- for the first two years and Rs. 20,500/- for the third year. However, the candidates without NET qualification for lecturership shall be awarded the Government of India fellowship @ Rs. 6,250/- p.m. for first and second years and Rs. 7,000/- p.m. for third year respectively with an annual contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/-.

Eligibility: For MBA & MBA (MS):

Candidates applying for admission to the first year of MBA (Full-Time) Programme must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree Programme after 12 years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines. The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows :-
