Courses offered: M.Sc. [FOOD TECHNOLOGY] PROGRAMME- 2009

A two year programme consisting of four semesters starting in the third week of August every year.
Eligibility: Minimum qualification for applying to the course is a Bachelor's Degree in:

Science with Chemistry as one of the major subjects with 55% in optional subjects of B.Sc. pass course (50% for SC/ST category) / 50% for B.Sc.(Hons.) course (45% for SC/ST category)

Agriculture with minimum second class

Engineering / Technology with minimum second class

Mathematics at the Higher Secondary / PUC level is compulsory for the admission.

International students are required to apply through the Indian Embassy / Consulates in the respective countries.
Application procedure: The application form can be downloaded from the web site and the duly completed application form in all respect may please be sent to the Director, CFTRI, Mysore - 570020 along with a DD for Rs. 500.00 drawn in favour of DIRECTOR, CFTRI, Mysore, on or before June 3, 2009.

Applications issued are not transferable. The Institute shall not be held responsible for any postal delay or otherwise.

Candidates should have a minimum CGPA of 6.75 (or 60% marks) for General, 6.25 (or 55% marks) for SC/ST, 5.75 (or 50% marks) for physically handicapped (PH) candidates on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination and should also have qualified GATE/NET.

Percentage of marks or CGPA shall be calculated taking the aggregate scored by the candidate in all years or as per the norms of the concerned university/ Institute etc. A limited number of seats are available for officially sponsored candidates from the Govt. Department/P.S.U./R&D organisations with minimum of 2 years experience. GATE/NET is an essential qualification for all disciplines except for the following category of candidates:-

a) Candidates holding M.V.Sc. / M.D. degree

b) Foreign nationals

c) Sponsored candidates from Public/Private Sector undertakings, Government Departments and Research and Development Organizations.

Candidates appearing for final qualifying examinations (including NET-JRF) can also apply but they must produce final result on the day of Interview failing which their candidature shall be rejected
Application procedure: Information Brochure cum Application form can be obtained in person or by post from the office of the Registrar, on submission of non refundable Bank Draft of Rs. 1000/-(Rs.500/- for SC/ST) payable at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali)/ Chandigarh in favour of “Director, NIPER”along with two duly typed self-addressed Slips (10 cms X 6 cms).

Indian nationals residing abroad and foreign nationals have to remit US$100 by Bank Draft payable to “Director, NIPER”. Payment by cheque/Postal Order will not be accepted. Candidates desirous of obtaining Information brochure by post should clearly mention name of the programme on the top of the envelope carrying the request letter.
