MP PEPT 2012 on May 20

The Pre-Engineering and Pharmacy Test (PEPT), MP is scheduled for 20.05.2012. The Professional Examinational Board, Bhopal conducting this examination for under graduate engineering and pharmacy courses admission 2012 in engineering and pharmacy college of Madhya Pradesh.
This year around 1.23 lakh candidates will compete for 1.06 lakh seats.

It is to be noted that the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has increased the intake from 88,000 to 1 lakh. MP has 215 private and government engineering colleges of which 90 are in state capital Bhopal.

The PEPT 2012 shall ask 200 question of 1 mark each this year.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (JEM - 2010)

Joint Entrance Examination, 2010 (JEM-2010)

Eligibility: The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the H.S.(10+2) or its equivalent examination. The general candidates must have to secure at least 50.00% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology taken together (40.00% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30.00% marks in English (for all categories). In addition, candidates must secure at least pass marks in the subjects individually including vernacular (or any other fifth subject) as mentioned below:

B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch :Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

M.B.B.S/B.D.S. : Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

PHARMACY: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

For MBBS and BDS courses : In addition to the aforesaid eligibility criteria, the general candidates must have to secure at least 50.00% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences taken together (40.00% for SC/ST) in the Joint Entrance Examination, W.B.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2010 will be allowed to sit for JEM-2010 provisionally and their admission, if merit listed, will be subjected to satisfying the minimum requirements of eligibility as specified above.

Age Restriction : Candidates must be 17 (seventeen) years of age or above as on 31.12.2010. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering course for which the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.07.2010.

Residential Requirements: Candidates desirous of seeking admission to Government Engineering / Technology Colleges, Govt. Medical and Dental Colleges as well as to Private Medical and Dental Colleges, must have been residing in the State of West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 (ten) years as on 31.12.2009 or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home address in the State of West Bengal.

Cost of Application Form : The Application Kit (i.e., prescribed printed application form along with Information Brochure and a printed window envelope) will be available from different Branches of United Bank of India (as specified below) on payment of Rs.500/- (for E / M type Form) and Rs.600/- for C type Form in cash .

Lama Rd.), Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar, Agartala (Tripura) on all working days between banking hours on payment of requisite fee.

The Application Kit may also be obtained by Post from the Board’s Office on application with an additional fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred) only. The total amount (i.e., cost ofapplication form plus Rs.100/-) has to be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD” payable at Howrah/Kolkata.

The last date for request for application-kit by post is 08.12.2009 and the last date for receipt of completed application form by Speed Post only is 12.01.2010. Request for application form received beyond the stipulated date as mentioned above will not be entertained and the Board shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for such non-receipt arising out of postal delay.

The Application Kit may also be obtained from the Board’s Office only with payment of actual cost of the form plus late fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred) only. The whole amount is to be paid through a Bank Draft to be drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata / Howrah from 01.01.2010 to 07.01.2010. The application form once purchased cannot be returned or replaced.

The duly filled in application form must be sent in the printed window envelope received by the candidate within the Application Kit by SPEED POST only so as to reach the office of the Board by 12.01.2010. Submission of Application Form by hand or courier service will not be accepted.

Admission to B. Pharmacy Course - 2009

Eligibility: (i) For admission to 85% State Quota Seats, the candidates) should be bonafide/
domicile of Himachal Pradesh. For admission to 15% All India Quota Seats, there is no such
condition of bonafide /domicile of Himachal Pradesh.

(ii) Should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized Board/ University with Physics and
Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; Mathematics/ Biology
Bio-Technology Computer Science.

Note: (1 ) Pass in 10+2 from National Open School (NIOS) New Delhi with the above subjects shall not be an entry qualification for taking this Entrance Test.

(2) Management Quota seats i.e. 33.1/3% of total state Quota Seats shall also be filled up by
respective Private Colleges on the basis of merit of marks obtained in the Entrance Test.

(iii) Age / Date of Birth: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01 ,1984 are eligible. However, in case of SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates upper age
limit is relaxed by 5 years i.e. who were born on or after October 01, 1979 are eligible.
Application procedure: (i) By Cash: For prescribed application form and detailed information
etc., the prospectus can be obtained at the University Examination Enquiry-cum-Sale Counter No.1, Library Building (Basement) Summer Hill, Shimla-5 from 8.5.2009 to 3.6.2009 during working hours on payment of Rs. 1000/- for General & other categories, and Rs 500/- for SC / ST categories only.

(ii) By Post: The request for obtaining the prospectus by post can only be addressed to the
Deputy Registrar (Entrance Tests) H.P. University, Shimla-111005 accompanied by crossed IPOs/Bank Draft amounting to Rs. 1050/- for General & other categories, and Rs.550/-for SC/ST categories drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, H.P. University, Shimla-5.

b) Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for the M. Pharm programme

Candidates must hold a B. Pharm degree from a PCI and AICTE approved Institute. Candidates must have a first class or minimum 60% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in graduation. [Sponsored candidates must have minimum 55% in average (45% for SC/ ST) in graduation]. In case the examining Board does not award a class, the percentage marks in graduation will be computed as average of marks obtained in all subjects in which candidate has appeared (excluding optional subjects). Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2009 can also apply, and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of the interviews they must bring:

1. A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institute certifying that by 30 June 2009, they will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining their Bachelor’s degree.

2. A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institute certifying that they have obtained 60% marks or equivalent (45% in case of SC/ST candidates) based on latest available grades / marks.

Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks (45% in case of SC/ ST). They must submit proof of passing their final examinations with requisite marks by 31 October 2009. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for the M.Tech programmes :

a) Candidates must hold EITHER a

a) Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India/AIU. This degree must entail a minimum of three years of education (10+2+3 system) after completing higher secondary schooling (Class 12 or equivalent).

b) Candidates of B.Sc. / B.A. Honours must have minimum 55% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in their Honours subject. Candidates of other graduate courses must have minimum 55% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in graduation, marks to be computed as average of marks obtained in ALL subjects in which candidate has appeared (excluding optional subjects).

c) Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment.

d) Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2009 can also apply, and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of the counselling they must bring:

i. A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institute certifying that by 30 June 2009, they will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining their Bachelor’s degree.

ii. A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institute certifying that they have obtained 55% marks or equivalent (45% in case of SC/ST candidates) based on latest available grades / marks.

Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks (45% in case of SC/ ST). They must submit proof of passing their final examinations with requisite marks by 31 October 2009. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.
Application procedure: Candidates should obtain our Information Brochure 2009 and Postgraduate Application Material 2009 giving details of the eligibility criteria, number of seats, fee structure, reservations, and containing the prescribed application form. The same may be obtained in person from the Accounts Office at Mesra or from any of our Extension Centres during working hours on all working days, from 9 April 2009 up to 20 May 2009, on payment by crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi.

To obtain the Information Brochure 2009 and Postgraduate Application Material 2009 by post, send a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1,050/- in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi, along with a covering letter mentioning the course applied for, and two slips of paper (of size 10 x 10 cm) with your name and address clearly written in block capitals, and telephone number, to Dean Admissions at Mesra or Director of any of our Extension Centres. Write PG - 2009 on the envelope. Postal requests must be received by 13 May 2009.

To apply for any of the programmes, eligible candidates must send the completed application with enclosures to office of the Dean Admissions, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi – 835215, positively by 23 May 2009.

You may use one application form to apply for ONLY one programme – M.E. or M. Pharm or M. Tech or MUP or M.Sc. and ONLY one discipline within that programme – for example only M.E. in Mechanical or only M. Tech in Computer Science or only M.Sc. in Bioinformatics. However, one application form can be used to apply for various specializations within some M.E. programmes and within the M. Pharm programme, and in the case of M.Sc. programmes in Bioinformatics and Geoinformatics, you may also use one application form to apply for different Places for Study, in order of preference.

Please use separate application form(s) to apply for two (or more) programme(s). Applications made on photocopies of forms are not acceptable. Since admission to M.Sc. programmes will be through a single test, please indicate in application form if applying for more than one M.Sc. programme, or attach letter stating the details of applications for other M.Sc. programmes (form numbers and names of programmes)

BHU – PMT -2009 Screening Test

(MBBS / BDS / BAMS / B.Pharm / B.Pharm (Ay.) courses)

It is hereby informed that in view of Parliamentary elections and clash of dates of other Medical Entrance Examinations, the BHU PMT-2009 Screening Test has again been postponed and will now be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 between 9.30 AM and 12.30 PM at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad Centres.

Further, PMT-2009 Main Test for MBBS course will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 between 9.30 AM and 12.30 PM at Varanasi Centre only instead of Sunday June 28th 2009 as reported earlier.

Please also note that distribution of seats in B.Pharm., Institute of Technology, selected through BHU PMT—2009 Screening Test has been revised and would be as follows

General-17; OBC-5; SC-4; and ST—2.

Candidates should have a minimum CGPA of 6.75 (or 60% marks) for General, 6.25 (or 55% marks) for SC/ST, 5.75 (or 50% marks) for physically handicapped (PH) candidates on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination and should also have qualified GATE/NET.

Percentage of marks or CGPA shall be calculated taking the aggregate scored by the candidate in all years or as per the norms of the concerned university/ Institute etc. A limited number of seats are available for officially sponsored candidates from the Govt. Department/P.S.U./R&D organisations with minimum of 2 years experience. GATE/NET is an essential qualification for all disciplines except for the following category of candidates:-

a) Candidates holding M.V.Sc. / M.D. degree

b) Foreign nationals

c) Sponsored candidates from Public/Private Sector undertakings, Government Departments and Research and Development Organizations.

Candidates appearing for final qualifying examinations (including NET-JRF) can also apply but they must produce final result on the day of Interview failing which their candidature shall be rejected
Application procedure: Information Brochure cum Application form can be obtained in person or by post from the office of the Registrar, on submission of non refundable Bank Draft of Rs. 1000/-(Rs.500/- for SC/ST) payable at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali)/ Chandigarh in favour of “Director, NIPER”along with two duly typed self-addressed Slips (10 cms X 6 cms).

Indian nationals residing abroad and foreign nationals have to remit US$100 by Bank Draft payable to “Director, NIPER”. Payment by cheque/Postal Order will not be accepted. Candidates desirous of obtaining Information brochure by post should clearly mention name of the programme on the top of the envelope carrying the request letter.
