India Government Scholarships for Schedule Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs)

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment - Government of India announces Scholarship Schemes for the students of Schedule Caste and Other Backward Class


Scholarship Scheme for SCs

Students in Class IX & X from 1st July, 2012

a) Eligibility: Annual parental Income should not exceed Rs 2 Lac per annum
b) Entitlement under the scheme: Monthly scholarship and annual books and ad-hoc grant

Scheme for Post-Matric Scholarship

a) Eligibility: Annual parental Income should not exceed Rs 2 Lac per annum
c) Entitlement under the scheme: Scholarship includes monthly maintenance allowance, study tour charges (one time), Thesis Typing / Printing Charges (One Time), Book Grant for Correspondence course (one time) and allowance for students with disabilities.

Pre-matric scholarship for children of those engaged in ‘unclean’ occupation

Entitlement under scheme:
a) Monthly Scholarship
b) Annual ad-hoc grant

Central Sector Scholarship scheme of Top Class Education for SC students 

Eligibility: Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges (ceiling of Rs 2lac per annum per student for private sector and Rs 3.72 lac per annum per student for the private sector flying clubs for commercial pilot training), living expenses, books and stationery, computer and accessories.

Central Sector Scheme of National Overseas Scholarship for SC Students

Eligibility:
a) Income ceiling: Total annual income from all sources of the candidate or his / her parents should not exceed Rs 25000 per month
b) Financial Assistance:
For USA and Other Countries except UK- Annual Maintenance Allowance of US Dollars $14000/-
For UK- Annual maintenance allowance of 9000 GBP

Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs)

a) Eligibility: Annual parental income should not exceed Rs 1 Lac per annum
b) Entitlement under the scheme: Scholarship includes Monthly Maintenance Allowance, Study Tour Charges, Thesis Typing and Printing Charges, Allowance for correspondence course, Reader Charges for blind students etc

Scheme for Pre matric scholarship to the Other Backward Classes

a) Eligibility: Total Income from all sources of the parents / guardians should not exceed Rs 44500/- per annum
b) Entitlement under the Scheme: Covers monthly scholarship and one time annual ad-hoc grant both for hostellers and day scholars.

CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013)


Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) is the premier Industrial R&D Organization in India. On the occasion of its Diamond Jubilee in 2002, CSIR initiated Invention Award for school children to create awareness, interest and motivation for Intellectual Property amongst children.


CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013)


On the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated through out the world on 26th April, CSIR invites applications for the ‘CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013)’.

CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013) Application


Applicant must provide the details of the innovation submitted for the award in not more than 5000 words in English/Hindi including an abstract (in not more than 100 words), authenticated (by giving seal and date) and sent through the Principal / Head of the School where the student is enrolled and personal details on a separate page
as follows:

Title of the Innovation,
Name,
date of birth,
school and residential address,
class,
telephone no. (residence /school),
e-mail address. 

In case of proposals already selected for state, national, international or equivalent awards, only the subject matter covering the improvements need to be submitted for consideration of CIASC-2013.Innovations Published/Exhibited during the period January 1 to September 30,2013 may be considered for the award.

The applications for the award not exceeding 5000 words in English/Hindi with requisite drawings/photographs will be considered. The write-up must describe the subject matter in a problem-solution mode and highlighting the novel features of the innovation and its advantages.

CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013) - Applicant’s Eligibility


Any Indian student enrolled in an Indian school below the age of 18 years as on 31st July 2013 can apply. A Student can make only one entry. Proposals can be submitted by a student or a group of students.

INNOVATION

The innovation submitted should be a new concept or idea or a solution to an existing problem or completely a new method/ process/ device/ utility. The concept of the innovation should have been proved through a model, a prototype or experimental data. In case of working model/prototype only photos/videos/drawings may be sent along with the application.

Essays/mere compilation of information from published literature/downloaded from internet will not be considered for award. Details of any assistance/ guidance provided by teachers/parents/friends or others must be appropriately acknowledged.

Whom To Send CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013) Application Form?

Typed applications to be sent by Registered Post/Courier to: Head, Innovation Protection Unit-CSIR, NISCAIR Building, 14 Satsang Vihar Marg, Special Institutional Area, New Delhi - 110 067 with the envelope marked on top left hand corner 'CIASC-2013'. You may also send application through email addressed to head.ipu@gmail.com

However, a hard copy should also follow through post with Principal’s authentication.

CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013) Deadline (Last Date for Application)


Applications received on or before 30th September, 2013 will be considered for the Award.

NO OF PRIZES AND CASH AWARD CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013)


Prizes: There are in all 30 prizes. Besides a certificate, the cash awards are:
First Prize (1 No.) Rs. 1,00,000/-
Second Prize (2 Nos.) Rs. 50,000/- each
Third Prize (3 Nos.) Rs. 30,000/- each
Fourth Prize (4 Nos.) Rs. 20,000/- each
Fifth Prize (20 nos.) Rs. 10,000/- each
It is not mandatory that all the above 30 prizes for the award would be given. 

CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013) Selection


The awardees will be selected by a high level Awards Selection Committee. If required, the short listed candidates may be called  for Interview at Delhi or may be interviewed telephonically by Scientists of IPU. The decision of the Award Selection Committee / CSIR will be final and binding on the applicants and no enquiries / correspondence in this regard will be entertained. If required, authenticity of working model/prototype may be verified before finalizing the awards. It may be noted that information, only about winning entries, shall be maintained.

CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC-2013) - Announcement Of Award

The Award will be announced on January 1, 2014 at New Delhi. Result will be available on CSIR website csir.res.in and urdip.res.in and would be communicated to the Awardees only.
