Is job hunting tough or I am not eligible

Just a similar question I read over Reddit; I ranted there my own way, but perhaps its problems of many including me.

Hunt is best done is silence, normally, what happen is before going for hunt (as this user was talking Job Hunt); we tell everyone, "I am going for Hunt", nothing wrong in this, but out there 70% energy goes in announcement which nobody cares, and with rest of 30% remaining energy we go out and prepare CV. For an effort of 30% we cannot expect result of 100%.

This blog, the one you are reading right now was earning enough money from advertisements, then for no reasons, i diverted my focus, that was my idiotic decision and today traffic is here but no advertisers, I need to begin my hunt again which is not easy, it need sweat and blood to rebuild it again, what has worked yesterday is not going to work today. And hunting is tough, for this blog I need only one thing to know what students hunt for? And hunting is tough.

Main question;

Is Job Hunting Tough?

Is Job switching Tough?

Yes, it is extremely tough? Till you not find a right recruiter, or right HR consultant that match to your skill sets. Also, its a matter of Demand and Supply? In majority of private companies, there is no set pattern of recruitment, generally candidates are hired to perform with less pay, and many eligible candidates are rejected in the process.

 So when you go for job hunt; know;

Job hunting is a task, you will gain mastery with time.

Match you skills, with employers.

Apply massively, but to those companies only where you find yourself fit; at least 60-70% fit.

Give them enough of reasons to hire you.

More than 90% CVs received go in the bin. So you are not alone, but one of those 90% before you become a part of remaining 10% of candidates whose CVs are considered.

Its not you alone, its tough for everyone including me and all those experts looking to job switch.

Its easy to those who has proven their worth already.

Steve Jobs was willing to hire an executive from Pepsico, executive was not willing to go to Apple, and Jobs pitch was, hey, how many more years do you want to sell sugarated  drinks? LOL.

Pepsico was huge success, about Apple you tell?

The Paragraph in italic written above I read in book HBR's 10 Must Reads on Teams

Main question is

How to go for job hunt

  • Prepare your Bio Data, Resume or CV, whatever you call it.
  • Get it checked by some experts.
  • There are many office those help in CV writing (Chose carefully)
  • Take feedback from your friends and seniors, faculty members; Ask them to review your CV, everyone cannot do that.
  • Prepare cover letter; so it could be read in a glance.
  • Think email headline if you are sending your Portfolio via email. Most of the emails go to bin.
  • Match skills, apply to those companies where is demand for your skill sets.
  • Use job boards to post your CV. Every job board is different. A CV that works through email may completely fail with a Job Board.
  • Your cover letter must be written in a way that it tell hiring managers what you will give to a company.
