WALK-IN-INTERVIEW for Admission to Ph.D. Programme -2009

The applicants may be placed in any of the specialized areas mentioned below.

Natural Product Chemistry:Isolation of new chemical entities and phyto-pharmaceuticals, isolation synthesis and medicinal chemistry of natural products, study of their biology/ pharmacology.

Pharmacology: General pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism and prospecting for different biological activities of natural products and their synthetic derivatives, cell biology and immunology, vaccine development and mechanistic studies.

Bio-organic Chemistry: Enzymes and their application in chemical transformations, fermentation technology and production of high value products by green chemistry and resolution of racemic drugs intermediates, exploration of microbial diversity particularly extromophiles and novel expression systems.

Bioinformatics: Computer aided 3D structure elucidation, QSAR model development mechanistic and insilico studies.

Biotechnology: Microbial and plant biotechnology, metabolic engineering of biosynthetic pathways in plants, bacteria and fungi.

Medicinal & Aromatic Plants: Agrotechnology and bioprospecting of medicinal & aromatic plants, cultivation of endangered and commercial plant varieties.
Eligibility: Candidates with masters or equivalent degree in any of the branches of science (Chemistry, Life Sciences, Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Physiology or in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering), who are qualified to receive Junior Research Fellowship after passing CSIR/UGC NET, DBT JRF Examination (A category) are eligible to be interviewed. No TA/DA or any other expenses shall be paid for appearing in the interview.

Age limit: 28 years (age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST and OBC candidates as per Govt. of India rules).

Dissertation Guides:

For a CSMMU faculty to register as a guide for a MPhil candidate, s/he must have a minimum of 5 years of teaching and research experience post MD/ MS. This must include a minimum 3 years of PG teaching experience. The faculty must be closely involved with the M.Phil in Translational Health Science Program.

It is necessary that the guide be currently involved in research with ongoing research project/s through extramural funding.

1. Admission under NRI quota in B.Tech. & B.Arch. Courses

Applications are invited for admissions in NRI quota fixed as per AICTE norms from the NRI, their son/daughter and real brother/sister in Govt. aided Institutions. The children of real brother / sister and son/daughter of NRI who have obtained minimum 50% marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) subjects in Intermediate or equivalent examination, may also be considered for admission in Govt. aided institutions, if the seats remain vacant after the admission of NRI, their son / daughter and real brother/ sister. HOW TO APPLY: Eligible candidates may submit their applications on prescribed format for admission against NRI / Kashmiri Migrant quota to the Registrar, U.P. Technical University, I.E.T. 1. NRI Candidates must submit the required NRI certificate and relationship certificate at the time of counselling as per clause 3.4(v),(vi), failing which their candidature shall be disqualified and they shall not be permitted to participate in the Counselling.
