Eligibility: (A) Age Limits:
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2010, i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1980 and not later than 1st August, 1989.

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable:
(i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.

(ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

(iii) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989.

(iv) upto a maximum of three years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof:

(v) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2010 and have been released (i) on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from 1st August, 2010) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or (ii) on account of physical disability attributable toMilitary Service, or (iii) on invalidment.

(vi) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2010 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three month's notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.

(vii) upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons.

(B) Minimum Educational Qualifications:
The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University GrantsCommission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Note I : Candidates who have appeared at an examination the passing of which would render them educationally qualified for the Commission’s examination but have not been informed of the results as also the candidates who intend to appear at such a qualifying examination will also be eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination. All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for taking the Civil Services (Main) Examination will be required to produce proof of passing the requisite examination with their application for the Main Examination failing which such candidates will not be admitted to the Main Examination. The applications for the main examination will be called sometime in the month of July/August, 2010.

Note II : In exceptional cases the Union Public Service Commission may treat a candidate who has not any of the foregoing qualifications as a qualified candidate provided that he has passed examination conducted by the other Institutions, the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission justifies his admission to the examination.

Note III : Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognised by Government as equivalent to professional and technical degree would also be eligible for admission to theexamination.

Note IV : Candidates who have passed the final professional M.B.B.S. or any other Medical Examination but have not completed their internship by the time of submission of their applications for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, will be provisionally admitted to the Examination provided they submit along with their application a copy of certificate from the concerned authority of the University/Institution that they had passed the requisite final professional medicalexamination . In such cases, the candidates will be required to produce at the time of their interview original Degree or a certificate from the concerned competent authority of the University/Institution that they had completed all requirements (including completion of internship) for the award of the Degree.

(C) Number of attempts:
Every candidate appearing at the Civil Services Examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted four attempts at the examination.

Provided that this restriction on the number of attempts will not apply in the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates who are otherwise eligible.

Provided further that the number of attempts permissible to candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes, who are otherwise eligible, shall be seven. This relaxation will be available to the candidates who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

Provided further that a Physically handicapped will get as many attempts as are available to other non-physically handicapped candidates of his or her community, subject to the General Category shall be eligible for seven attempts. The relaxation will be available to the physically handicapped candidates who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

Note:- (i) An attempt at a Preliminary Examination shall be deemed to be an attempt at the Examination.

(ii) If a candidate actually appears in any one paper in the Preliminary Examination, he/she shall be deemed to have made an attempt at the Examination.

(iii) Notwithstanding the disqualification/cancellation of candidature, the fact of appearance of the candidate at the examination will count as an attempt.
Application procedure:
Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examination, which can be purchased from the Designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty only). Each such form can be used only once and only for oneexamination.

The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 965. The number of vacancies is liable to alteration.

Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Physically disabled categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.

The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages (vide Appendix I Section I below).

(i) Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective type for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and
(ii) Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts noted above.

Applications are now invited for the Preliminary Examination only. Candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified for admission to the Main Examination will have to apply again in the detailed application form which would be supplied to them. The Main Examination is likely to be held in October/November, 2010.

Examination Fee
A candidate seeking admission to examination must pay to the Commission a fee of Rs. 50.00 (Rupees Fifty only) through a single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp of requisite denomination. Central recruitment Fee Stamp (NOT postage stamps) may be obtained from the post office and affixed on the application form in the space provided therein. The stamp must be got cancelled from the issuing Post Office with the date stamp of the post office in such a manner that the impression of the cancellation mark partially overflows on the application form itself but within the space provided on the form. The impression of the cancellation mark should be clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of date and the Post Office of issue.

Candidates residing abroad should deposit the prescribed fee in the office of India's High Commissioner, Ambassador or representative abroad as the case may be for credit to account head "051-Public Service Commission-Examination Fees" and attach the receipt with the application.

ALL FEMALE CANDIDATES AND CANDIDATES BELONGING TO SCHEDULED CASTE/SCHEDULED TRIBE/PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED CATEGORIES ARE EXEMPTED FROM PAYMENT OF FEE. NO FEE EXEMPTION IS HOWEVER, AVAILABLE TO OBC CANDIDATES AND THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PAY THE PRESCRIBED FEE IN FULL.

Physically disabled persons are exempted from the payment of fee provided they are otherwise eligible for appointment to the Services/Posts to be filled on the results of this examination on the basis of the standards of medical fitness for these Services/Posts (including any concessions specifically extended to the physically disabled). A physically disabled candidate claiming fee concession will be required by the Commission to submit along with their detailed application form, a certified copy of the certificate from a Government Hospital/Medical Board in support of his claim for being physically disabled.

Eligibility: B.E/B.Tech. in any branch of Engineering/ Technology with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. OR Ist class Master’s Degree in any branch of Physical/ Chemical/ Mathematical Science like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operation Research, Computation/ Information Science or Master’s Degree in Commerce / Economics.

Note: Relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be allowed.

Application procedure: All the applications received will be short-listed on the basis of performance in CAT and qualifying examination. The short-listed candidates are required to appear for an interview and group discussion. Prospectus of DTU along with the Application Form can be downloaded from DTU website www.dce.edu from January 5, 2010 to February 8, 2010.

Downloaded application forms must be submitted along with DD/ PO of Rs 1000/- in favour of ‘The Registrar, Delhi Technological University, Delhi’ payable at Delhi by February 8, 2010 (5 pm).

Incomplete applications, due to any reason, are liable for rejection by the University.

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

Eligibility: Academic Eligibility: One of the following qualifications will be required as basic eligibility.

a. Post-Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline (including M.A, M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Tech etc) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.

b. Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with at least 50% marks or equivalent.

c. Professional qualifications such as MBBS and LLB with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA *


d. Engineering degrees, viz., B.Tech and BE, with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA*

* for c & d above additional minimum 3 years relevant experience required for applying to Marketing Area.


Those appearing for the final exams can also apply; but, their final selection will be subject to successful completion of the requirement by June 30, 2010. Their admission will be provisional till they produce the required certificates of qualification before December 2010.

Application procedure: Application form can be obtained by sending a request to the address mentioned in the back cover page of this brochure, with an application fee of Rs.300 in the form of crossed DD payable to Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode at Kozhikode (or Calicut). Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune





MBBS Course – 2010

Eligibility: Applications are invited for admission to the MBBS course at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, commencing from 02 Aug 2010. Total 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All the 105 boys and 25 girls admitted to Armed Forces Medical College, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the Short Service Commission (SSC) officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven (7) years. All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of Rs. 15 lacs (Rupees Fifteen lacs) at the time of joining the college. Students removed from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by Govt of India.

Ten seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who also have similar service liability and have to fulfil the requirements of medical fitness, age, educational qualification and qualifying the entranceexamination as per details given in the prospectus.

SPECIAL CONCESSIONS: The Govt will provide free accommodation and entitled rations, subsidised messing, AC 3 Tier free railway warrant from college to home and back during vacations, a book subsidy of Rs. 12,000/- during entire training period, uniform allowance of Rs. 6000/- per student during first year and Rs.1250/- per year as maintenance allowance in subsequent years and any other misc allowances as applicable.

All candidates should be medically fit as per laid down standards for the Armed Forces.

Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage during the course is not permitted. The college is fully and compulsorily residential both for boys and girls.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Applicants must have passed the XII standard/pre-professional/premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/Board or any other recognized Board/University as a regular student in all the subjects opted for in FIRST ATTEMPT with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks in the three science subjects taken together, not less than 50% marks in each of the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English. Theymust have also passed an examination in Mathematics at least of the matriculation standard. A graduate of B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) and also must have passed the earlier qualifying examination i.e. XII standard/Pre professional (Med) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained marks as stated above. NOTE (a)Candidates who are to appear in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) upto 01 May 2010 may also appear for the
test provisionally. (b) The following categories of students are NOT

ELIGIBLE to apply:- (i) Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lower Maths separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science, Social studies in High School/Higher Secondary (Multi Purpose) or equivalentexamination (ii) Candidates who have passed only Pre-University/Pre-Degree (one year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture/Veterinary/Dental Examination (iii) Candidates who have passed the Pre-Professional or equivalent qualifying examination
as private candidates.

AGE LIMIT: Must have attained the age of 17 years on 31 December 2010 but must NOT have attained the age of 22 years on the date i.e. not born earlier than 01 January 1989 and not later than 31 December 1993, if the academic qualification of the candidate is 10+2 or equivalent. A candidate who has passed B.Sc. examination or will be appearing in final B.Sc. examination and seeks admission, he/she must not have attained the age of 24 years on 31 December 2010 i.e. must have been born not earlier than 01 January 1987.
Application procedure: Prospectus and application forms can be purchased for Rs. 250/- in cash at the General/Head/Central/Main Post Offices located at the mentioned places from 21 Dec 2009 till stocks last or 29 January 2010 WHICHEVER IS EARLIER.

Note: While purchasing prospectus from above HPOs/GPOs candidates must ensure that they have received one copy of the Application Form also. Demand draft is NOT required to be sent alongwith these applications. Prospectus and application forms can also be obtained by post from Officer-in-Charge (Admission Cell), Armed ForcesMedical College , Sholapur Road, Pune- 411 040 on payment of Rs. 250/- per copy, only by Bank Draft on any nationalized bank payable at Pune in favour of “Commandant, AFMC, Pune”, along with full postal address ofthe candidate on two separate slips of paper (size 9 cms x 5 cms). Please ensure that the Demand Draft bears the code number of the issuing bank.The candidate must write his/her name & address on
the back of the Demand Draft. The candidate should enclose an application for obtaining prospectus and application form giving his/her particulars and address and enclose a self addressed envelope of 11” X 13” size and affix postage stamp of Rs. 55/-.
