Application Open IIMBx MOOC and IIT Madras CCE Certificate Programme in Technology and Management

The IIMBx MOOC of IIM Bangalore and CCE IIT Madras jointly offers a 10 month Online Program for working professionls. The program has three modules Duration of each module is 3 months. Program will be delivered Online through webinars and Campus Connect Session. Each module will be a combination of technical and managerial courses. The progrm fee is Rs 400 000 for Indian students and $ 9 000 for International students.

Admission and Eligibility
  • An undergraduate degree or higher
  • 2+ years industry experience
  • Interview
The selected candidates shall be invited to apply within a certain deadline. However, candidates may also be waitlisted based on eligibility and number of seats available.

Scholarships: Some scholarships may be available to deserving candidates upon request.

Age Limit: 22 to 50 years

Who is Hiring at IIT Madras in 2017-18

The IIT Madras or any engineering college, at the end of semester exams candidates look to meet hiring managers, face interview and get a Job. Colleges performing better sees more recruiters than the less performing institutions. Recruiters do not look for qualification, they look for talent. The previous years ranking and performance of students during placement session also counts on who is coming to college for campus selection.

IIT Madras to held Imaging Cinema 2012

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) shall conduct ‘Imaging Cinema 2012’ by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras, between June 1-10, 2012.
If movies interests you this is the right opportunity to learn film making. It is to be noted that film making is vast industry in India, what we see today is just the tip of the pin, movies are going to be evolve in coming days and sure there shall be huge rising need to write and direct films and screen plays in coming days.

The ten-day programme, for which an IIT Madras certification of participation will be awarded, will be handled by a high-profile resource team that includes Atul Tiwari (Screenwriter of Mission Kashmir and Dashavataram),  K Hariharan (Director, LV Prasad Institute of Film and Television, Chennai), Rohan Sippy (Director of Dum Maro Dum and Bluffmaster), Shridhar Raghavan (Screenwriter of Khakee, Dum Maro Dum, and Apaharan), Sriram Raghavan (Director of Agent Vinod, Johnny Gaddar, and Ek Haseena Thi), Anurag Kashyap (Dev D, No Smoking, Gulaal) and Patricia Gruben (Director, Praxis Screenwriting Programme, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver).

The Imaging Cinema 2012 will be delivered in four sessions somewhat like follows-


Imaging Cinema 2012 1st Session- Basic Understanding of Films
Imaging Cinema 2012 2nd Session - mechanics of filmmaking including camera handling, lighting, sound, sets, editing, special effects etc.
Imaging Cinema 2012 3rd Session- understanding the film-script construction.
Imaging Cinema 2012 4th Session Film shooting of 5 minutes duration.

On the last day the films made by students shall be given awards.

How to apply


The programme fee is Rs 10,000 for professionals, however for those who took part in similar program conducted by IIT Madars in 2009 the fee is Rs 9,000 and 2010 is Rs 8, 000. This fee is 250 USD for NRIs and international students/professionals. A video camera is not a must for participation. Cell phone cameras will be sufficient to take part in this program.

The last date to buy application forms is April 30, 2012.  Filled-in forms must be mailed to draysha@iitm.ac.in before May 2, 2012.

The course is open to all professionals and students, not just to students of cinema.

Accommodation is available at IIT Madars campus on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Rent for hostel rooms is Rs 150 for a day.

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D and MS programmes under regular full time [with/without Half-time Teaching/Research Assistarrtship (HTRA)) and Part Time / External in the departments of Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Biotechnology, Chemical, Chemistry, Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical, Engineering Design, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management Studies, Mathematics, Mechanical, Metallurgical & Materials, Ocean and Physics.
Eligibility: For Regular (full time] Research Scholars:

Ph.D. in Engineering:

a] Candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology with a good academic record or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering / Technology with a good academic record.

b) Candidates with Master’s degree in Sciences with a good academic record and of exceptional merit where eligible, for the relevant Engineering discipline and with a valid GATE score or UGC / CSIR NET / NBHM or equivalent qualification in the relevant area tenable for the year of registration.

In the case of candidates with more than 5 years relevant experience after the Master’s degree, the requirement of a test score may be waived by the Selection Committee.

c] Candidates who have qualified for the award of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology with exceptionally good academic record in an eligible discipline will be considered for direct admission to Ph.D. Programme as a regular full time scholar subject to the following conditions:

- a B.Tech degree holder of an IIT with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 10 point scale or with a valid GATE score.

- a Bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering / Technology from any other University should be among the top 10 rank holders in the University and having a valid GATE score.

- a Bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering / Technology from a reputed R & D organisation and having a proven research record.

Ph.D. in Sciences:

a) Master’s degree in Sciences with a good academic record and having a valid GATE score or UGC / CSIR NET / NBHM or equivalent qualification tenable for the current year in the relevant area.

b) Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology where eligible with a good academic record.

c) B.Tech degree holder of an IIT where eligible with a minimum of CGPA of 8.0 on a 10.0 point scale or with a valid GATE Score.

Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Sciences:

Master’s degree in an eligible discipline with a good academic record or equivalent and having a valid GATE score or UGC / CSIR NET / NBHM or equivalent qualification tenable for the current year in the relevant area.

Ph.D in Management:

Masters degree or equivalent PG Diploma or Associateship in a relevant discipline, and a Bachelor’s degree with a good academic record OR Five year integrated masters degree/ dual degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline with a good academic record AND

Qualifying in national level examinations such as JMET / CAT / MAT / ATMA / GATE / UGCor CSIR / NET JRF or Lectureship or equivalent or international level post graduate admission examination such as GMAT / GRE or equivalent. OR

At least 5 years of managerial experience in lieu of the above examination. (This clause is only for Non-HTRA candidates)

Master's degree in Engineering / Technology with a good academic record or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering / Technology in a relevant discipline are exempted from qualifying in National level examinations.

For Institute staff members / Research Scholars under QIP / Research Scholars under External Registration / Research Scholars working on part-time basis:

For Research Scholars in the above categories, the minimum educational qualifications are the same as prescribed for Regular (full time) Research Scholars in for admission to the Ph.D. Programme in the respective categories.

However, valid GATE score or CSIR/UGC NET / NBHM /JMET / CAT / AIMA / JRF or Lectureship or equivalent qualification as applicable for regular (full time) research scholars may not be required in these cases.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for M.S:

For Regular (full time) Research Scholars:

M.S. in Engineering / Entrepreneurship / Management:

a) Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology with valid GATE score or a Master’s degree in appropriate Sciences Management / Humanities and Social Sciences where eligible with a good academic record and a valid GATE score or CSIR / UGC NET / NBHM / JEMT / CAT / AIMA or equivalent qualification tenable for the current year in the relevant areas.

b) Candidates having Associate Membership of the following professional bodies will also be eligible for admission to the M.S. programme of their parent discipline provided they have a valid GATE score and have passed both part A and part B of the Membership examinations with a good academic record.

The Institution of Engineers (India) (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communications), the Aeronautical society of India, the Indian Institute of Metals, the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Institute of Electronics and Tele-communication Engineering and other professional bodies approved by the Senate from time to time.

IIT Madras




One year Post Graduate Program for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) – 2009 – 2010 at IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur and IIM Calcutta
Eligibility: Education : A First-Class Degree in any branch of Engineering.

Work Experience :

Minimum of 5 years and maximum of 10 years in manufacturing and related sector; holding responsibilities in production planning and control, research, design and development, quality control, plant engineering, maintenance, marketing etc.

Candidates may be sponsored by their employers or they may be self-sponsored. There is no upper limit of work experience for the company sponsored candidates.
