Eligibility Criteria

And

Copy of UGC India Public Notice Regarding FYUP Admission 2014 University of Delhi

All students, parents and general public are hereby informed that the Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUP) introduced by the University of Delhi (DU) in academic session 2013-14 was not in consonance with the National Policy of Education (NPE) (1986) and 10+2+3 structure envisaged under it and the University of Delhi has not followed the procedure prescribed in the Delhi University Act, 1922.
After taking into consideration the larger interest of the students and the necessity of ensuring that they are not put under any undue hardship because of the introduction of FYUP, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed the University of Delhi , vide its order dated 20 June 2014 that admissions for the academic year 2014-15 to the General Degree Programmes in various colleges under the University of Delhi shall only be to the 3 Year Under Graduate Programme which were prevalent prior to the introduction of FYUP. The University of Delhi or any of the Colleges under it shall not admit students to the FYUP for academic year 2014-15. Any deviation from this directive either by the University of Delhi or any of the colleges under it shall be deemed to be in contravention of the UGC Act 1956. The University of Delhi and all the colleges under it have already been directed to comply with these instructions.

The UGC has also constituted a Standing Committee to advise the University of Delhi for migration from FYUP to the 3 Year Under Graduate Programme and for implementing the Directives of the UGC.

Students are hereby informed that they shall seek admission in a college of the University of Delhi only to the 3 Year Under Graduate Programmes which were prenvalent prior to the introduction of FYUP and not to FYUP and shall pay fees only for the 3 Year Programme.

UPSC Civil Services Main Exam Pattern 2014

The Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2014 is meant to serve as a screening test only; the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be about twelve to thirteen times the total approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year through this examination.

Eligibility For B.TECH. ADMISSION 2014 into IIST Thiruvananthpuram 


Candidates must make sure that they satisfy ALL the eligibility criteria described below for applying for admission to B.Tech Programmes in IIST.

Citizenship: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for admission in IIST.

Date of Birth: Candidates belonging to General category (GEN) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1989. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PD) categories must have born on or after October 1, 1984.

The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board /or its equivalent will be accepted. If the certificate does not mention the date of birth, candidate must submit an authenticated document from competent authority indicating the date of birth at the time of Counselling.

Qualifying Examination (10+2 or Equivalent): Candidates seeking admission to IIST should have passed their Qualifying Examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of the curriculum.

Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure an aggregate of at least
70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in the qualifying examination and those belonging to SC/ST/PD should have an aggregate of at least 60% marks in PCM subjects in the qualifying examination.

The qualifying examination should be any of the following: 
(i) The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi, etc.
(ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
(iii) Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
(iv) Vocational Higher Secondary Examination.
(v) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
(vi) Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
(vii) General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
(viii) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

In case the relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.

JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) – 2014 Examinations 


Candidates should appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)-2014 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi to qualify themselves to appear for Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced)-2014 conducted by IITs and secure the minimum prescribed category-wise marks in JEE (Advanced)-2014 as given below:-

a. General Candidates (GEN): At least 20% marks in aggregate and at least 5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).
b. Other Backward Community – Non Creamy Layer OBC (NCL) Candidates: At least 18% marks in aggregate and at least 4.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).
c. SC, ST & PD Candidates: At least 10% marks in aggregate and at least 2.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).

(Please note that the marks secured by the candidate in JEE (Advanced)-2014 examination will be used ONLY for deciding his/her eligibility for admission to IIST and NOT for preparing IIST Admission Rank List.

  • Candidates who are desirous to join B.Tech Programmes in IIST must apply separately for admission to IIST by registering at the online application portal admission2014.iist.ac.in

Coffee Board invites applications for the Post Graduate Diploma in Coffee Quality Management (PGDCQM 2014-15)

The Coffee Board, Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry invites applications for the Post Graduate Diploma in Coffee Quality Management (PGDCQM 2014-15) for the academic year starting in August 2014.

With increasing awareness about food safety and environment in a post-WTO era, the quality of coffee is the key issue, for producers, exporters and consumers alike.

To drive the quality mission forward, the Coffee Board of India has instituted a post graduate course to support the requirements of the Indian coffee industry for trained personnel with special aptitudes and skills. Coffee quality evaluation is a well-accepted practice the world over, and students from previous batches have found satisfying and remunerative assignments in Indian coffee companies.

The PGDCQM is designed to equip students with the specific knowledge and skills required to function as coffee tasters. Course content includes coffee cultivation practices, coffee marketing, quality evaluation techniques and quality assurance systems, training sessions.

12 months course in 3 trimesters conducted in English.
Accommodation: Students to make own arrangements at Bangalore during the second and third trimesters.
Free accommodation will be provided during the first trimester at CCRI, Balehonnur, Chikmagalur.

The e-Admit Cards of the candidates for the above examinations are available on the Commission’s website
(http://www.upsc.gov.in). The candidates are advised to download their e-Admit Cards and take a printout
thereof. The admitted candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-Admit Cards at the allotted venue for appearing in the examination. In case the photograph is not visible or available on the e-Admit Cards, candidates are advised to carry identical photographs (one photograph for each session) along with proof of Identity such as Identity Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport or Driving License and the printout of e-Admit Card at the venue of the examination. No paper Admit Card will be issued for the examinations by the Commission. 


The candidates are advised to take a printout of the e-Admit Card well in advance to avoid last minute
rush. In the past, cases have been noticed where some candidates have faced difficulty in accessing the
server on the last day on account of server overload.

In case of any discrepancy in the e-admit card, the same may be communicated to the Commission immediately
