Union Public Service Commission - Geologists’ Examination 2013 and Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service Examination 2013

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting the Geologists’ Examination 2013 and Indian Economic Services / Indian Statistical Service Examination 2013 from 9 November 2013 to 11 November 2013 at various Centres all over India as per UPSC Notification. E-Admit cards are available on the Commission’s website www.upsc.gov.in


Candidates are advised to download and check the e-Admit Card carefully and bring discrepancy, if any, to the notice of the commission immediately.

Rejection letters citing the ground(s) for rejection have been dispatched and also put on the Union Public Service Commission website http://www.upsc.gov.in

In case of any difficulty faced by the candidates in downloading e-Admit Card, they may contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter on Telephone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125 and 011-23098543 on any working day between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. The candidates can also send Fax message on Fax No 011-23387310

No Admit Card will be sent by post.

In case the photograph is not printed clear on the e-Admit Card candidates are advised to carry two (2) photographs (one identical photograph for each session) alongwith proof of identity such as Identity Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport or Driving License and printout of e-Admit Card at the Venue of the Examination.

Mobile Phones Banned

A) Mobile phones, or any other communication devices are not allowed inside the premises where the examination is being conducted. Any  infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examination.
B) Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones/pagers to the venue of the examination, as arrangements for their safe-keeping cannot be assured.

INCRE-Clinical Neuroscience Research Fellowship of DBT 2013-14

Department of Biotechnology (DBT) invites application for the award of fellowship under the Initiative on the Neuro-Clinical Research Education (INCRE): 2013-14. There would be upto 11 fellowships initially for this financial year of one year duration that may be extendable for another year on case to case basis, based on performance review.


INCRE Fellowship Amount: Each fellowship will consist of Rs 75000/- per month and an amount of Rs 500 000/- for one year, to support research at an institute of repute.

INCRE Fellowship Eligibility: Applicant may be DM or M.Ch or MD-Psychiatry and interested in pursuing Neuroscience research alongwith clinical responsibility; and has completed residency within the past five years.

Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS), provides an excellent opportunity for young and motivated researchers to pursue a career in Basic and Applied Life Sciences research. DIPAS endeavors in optimizing human performance under extreme operational environments using physiological, biochemical, nutritional and ergonomic approach. The labs are equipped with state-of-art facilities to conduct human studies, animal and in-vitro experimentation with an inter-disciplinary approach. Cutting-edge technology (Micro-Array Facilities, MALDI-TOF, Human Decomposition Chamber, CAD, Bio-informatics and Nanotechnology) at the institute encompasses broad interdisciplinary areas- Physiology; Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology and Organic Chemistry/Phytochemistry.


Applications are invited from young and motivated candidates with CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT/DST fellowships for the post of Junior Research Fellows to work in ongoing and future research projects at DIPAS.

AIPGMEE 2014-National Board of Examinations

AIPGMEE 2014 for admission to MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma Courses Admission Session 2014

AIPGMEE is the eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to All India 50% quota of MD/MS/Diploma Seats-2014 Admission Session (Except Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh).


The National Board of Examination has been notified by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to conduct a competitive entrance examination on all India basis for admission to All India 50% Quota MD/MS/Diploma Seats-2014 Admission Session (except for colleges located in Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh).

The State Government of Haryana, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and University of Delhi shall utilize the results of AIPGMEE 2014 for admission to MD/MS/Diploma courses at colleges under their control. These states shall not be conducting an entrance examination of their own.
Admission to MD/MS/Diploma Courses at institutes under Armed Forces Medical Services shall also be made on the basis of results of AIPGMEE 2014.

The AIPGMEE shall be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) from 25 November 2013 to 6 December 2013 (with 26 and 29 November; 1 and 4 December as No-Testing Days) at 70 Test Centers located at 38 cities across the country.

Eligibility Criteria for AIPGMEE 2014: Candidates who are in possession of MBBS Degree / Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from an Institute (except Colleges/Universities located in Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh) recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS Qualification issued by the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council and have completed 1 Year of Internship or likely to complete on or before 31 March 2014 may apply for AIPGMEE through online application system at www.nbe.gov.in

R-MAT 2014 - "Ph.D in Business Administration" Entrance Test Notification

The All India Management Association (AIMA) – Center for Management Education (CME) invites applications for Admission 2014 in Ph.D Business Administration Courses. This program is conducted in collaboration with Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)


Eligibility Criteria for Admission into Ph.D Business Administration Course


Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Management or allied subjects from commerce, humanities, science, engineering and law etc or a PGDM, PGDITM approved by AICTE with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade Or Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy or any other professional qualification which are considered equivalent to Master Degree with atleast 55% marks or equivalent grade. United States-India Science and Technology ENDOWMENT FUND
"Commercializing Technologies For Social Impact"***

The Government of United States of America (through the Department of State) and India through the Department of Science & Technology have established the United States - India Science & Technology Endowment Fund for promotion of joint activities that would lead to innovation and techno-preneurship through the appreciation of science & technology. The aim of the fund is to support and foster joint applied R&D to generate public good through commercialization of technology achieved through sustained partnerships between US and Indian researchers and entrepreneurs.


The Endowment Fund activities are implemented and administered through the bi-national Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF).

Call for Executive Summary


Objectives: To select and support through a grants program financially promising joint US-India entrepreneurial initiatives. These initiatives can originate from government, academic, non-governmental or commercial entities, and any combination thereof provided they focus on applied R&D, incorporate a business plan, and proof of commercial concept and significant sustainable commercial potential.

Program Areas
Healthy Individual: Affordable Biomedical devices, diagnostic / preventative curative measures, or food and nutrition products to improve health. (Drug Developments and Clinical Trial are not eligible activities in this category).

Empowering Citizens: Reducing the digital / technology divide. This could include amongst others, information and communication technologies with societal impact in areas such as water, agriculture, financial inclusion, and education.

Eligibility

Proposal must include a minimum of one partner from each country. Bi-national teams applying to the Endowment will work together to commercialize technologies for societal impact.

The Bi-national teams can include:
(I) Start-Up Companies; or
(II) Incorporated Companies; or
(III) Non-incorporated entities; or
(iv) Individuals or consortia from academia, government laboratories, non-government R&D Institutions.

Each bi-national team must include at the time of application an entrepreneurial (small-scale as opposed to large-scale) entity that will receive a portion of the grant and take the technology to the market. If partners are planning to form a new venture to commercialize the technology, the proposal should include planned incorporation date and the amount of grants requested for the new entity.

The proposed technology must have the potential to be commercialize within 2-3 years.

Integrated PhD and PhD Admissions in Life Sciences- August 2014
